Ben View, in the hamlet of Inveralligin is a spacious detached home occupying a stunning loch side location. A large walled garden backs straight onto the shores of Upper Loch Torridon and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains can be appreciated from throughout the house and garden.The house has 5 bedrooms (1 king, 2 doubles, 2 twin), a large living room, sun room, a spacious dining kitchen and a separate dining room to easily seat 10. It is an ideal base for nature lovers, mountaineers, families or groups of friends.A double and twin bedroom (with family bathroom) are all located on the ground floor, providing easier access for those with restricted mobility. Herons, Otters, and Pine Martens are all regularly spotted from the property and there is an abundance of hiking, mountain biking, fishing and climbing within walking distance of the house. Kayaks can be launched from the other side of the garden wall and boats can be launched nearby for diving and fishing in the loch.Children will be entertained for hours with the large grassy garden, paddling in the stream, and shell hunting on the beach. There is a small DVD collection, large library and family board games for rainy days. Toys to keep young children entertained.Off street parking for 4 cars. “Amazing setting for a family christmas”

We stayed for 5 nights for Christmas. The house was perfect in functionality to accommodate the 8 of us visiting. Comfortably cooked Christmas Dinner and boxing day buffet for us all. The house is set in a perfect position to fully appreciate the stunning mountains surrounding it. We witnessed the changing moods of the weather, watched the sun rise up from behind the mountains one morning and then the very eery side of them slowly appearing from the thick cloud and fog the next. Heard a deer clattering over the wall in the garden at night. Saw dolphins coming in with the tide. Walked for miles over the various mountain routes and saw the sheer expanse of the Loch. The roads are an experience all in themselves, had to reverse a mini bus when an oncoming car decided it wasn't going backwards!! We had an amazing time, it couldn't have been better. Go well prepared if going in the winter as the shop in torridon is only open Wednesday to Saturday and the next closest shop is Lochcarron which is almost an hour away (although the views along the way make it well worth while). Will definitely consider a summer stay at some point.

“Stunning”

Beautiful peaceful location with stunning views in every direction. Perfect for a base for hill walking or like us a relaxing holiday with extended family. The house is really spacious and well equipped (I have real house envy now) and with 9 of us there plus the dog we had plenty of space. We had two people with reduced mobility so the 2 downstairs bedrooms and bathroom were much appreciated. The children had the best time paddling in the loch and 'river running' in the burn. The locals were really friendly and supplied us with delicious strawberries from the community allotment. The last 5 miles of road in was challenging for me because I have an intense fear of heights (it rises to about 400ft with a view down to the loch at one side for part of the way) but I quickly got used to it and would definitely love to go back again. We made use of the tesco click and collect and the local GP while there and received an excellent and friendly service.

“A loch-side haven of peace”

We spent two glorious weeks at Ben View at the beginning of May. Almost a fortnight of sunshine helped, but we know from a previous visit that sitting in the sun room watching rain squalls blow up the loch offers far more drama than anything on television. Ben View is extremely comfortable, well-equipped and in the perfect position right by the water. We saw porpoises, seals, buzzards and all sorts of seabirds without even leaving the property. As for the stunning mountain backdrop, well...you'll just have to come and see for yourself. We'll certainly be back

“Absolutely stunning area and views”

The cottage was excellent and could not be faulted. For a group of mountaineers, more used to staying at climbing huts, the extra space made so much difference and having TV, a Jacuzzi and internet made it a real home from home. Every one of us were hooked on the area. and gutted when it was time to leave. There is so much to explore, that we are talking about a return visit. For those into the outdoors, the mountains are immensely impressive all within a relatively short distance. Wildlife enthusiasts would not be disappointed either.
