Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

Lanzarote the sun-kissed most easterly island of the 7 main Canary islands is claimed to be the most exclusive. The climate is dominated by north eastern trade winds and the warm Canary stream producing glorious summer temperatures all year round. The main resorts are concentrated in the centre and south of the island, Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise, and Playa Blanca. The most popular resort is Carmen with over 2 kms of golden sand, rocky divides and palm trees. Only a six minute drive away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto del Carmen Casa Candalaria can be found.

Lanzarote: is perfect for a fabulous sunshine holiday, it lies in a sub-tropical location just 60 miles from Africa. There are many sites to see that have been created by the volcanic activity over thousands of years. Timanfaya National Park is an amazing phenomenon, where if a stick is pushed into the ground it will catch fire immediately due to the heat in the ground.

Cuevas de los verdes (the green caves) are lava tunnels produced by volcanic eruptions. These are one of the longest in the world, stretching 7 km below the sea and visitors to the caves can walk 1.5 km down into them. Some of the volcanic soils are very fertile and the Island has its own 'wine region' from which the delicious Malvasia wine is produced.

Puerto del Carmen is very well equipped for water sports scuba diving, deep sea fishing and windsurfing. Near to Tias are 2 first class Go kart tracks each with bar’s and restaurant facilities. 10 minutes drive north takes you to Costa Teguise (just 7km away) were the island’s premier golf course can be found (so bring your clubs).

Tias

The villa is situated on the edge of the large, bustling village of Tias, in the quiet La Candelaria residential area. The main village shops, bars and a good selection of restaurants are only a fifteen minute walk or a two minute drive away. There is also a small local shop within a five minute walk.

Tias is only four kilometres from the amenities and miles of glorious golden beaches of Puerto Del Carmen. Tias now boasts its own new golf course (just 3km away) which makes two full 18 hole courses on the Island. Both the owners and managing agents of this villa play and would be only too pleased to advise or arrange some golf during your stay.

The wine growing region of La Geria and the volcanic national park of Timanfya are also only a short drive away. The transfer time from the airport is approximately ten minutes and you will be met at the airport to assist with your luggage and transfer. Golf clubs can be provided.

“Fantastic villa!”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2016

Fantastic villa! Thinks that it was the best from those we were. We have a big experience, believe us. It was an unbelievable time we had at the place! Dear Wendy, thank you for everything you did to us! We left our icebox, as a sign, that we will come back! Sergei & Julia

Owner's reply: Many thanks for tatami g the time to post a review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay . Looking forward to welcoming you back in the future Regards Wendy

“simply stunning”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2016

Stayed here the week after my daughter got married. . Four adults and three children. The villa is amazing. . The owners couldn't do enough. The bought extra stair hates to stop the twins going up and down the stairs and even bought a little potty to keep near the swimming pool in case of emergencies. The pool was warm when we arrived but within a few hours the pool maintenance guy was there to sort it. . Wendy took up to the nearest supermarket on arrival to get supplies of food and drink. . The beach is a short drive/taxi away. .we did have a little trouble with the language barrier in ordering transport big enough for us all or just my daughters family of five. But that was our problem not theirs. .we loved it and hope to go back in may 2017

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review , your comments are greatly appreciated and look forward to seeing you in the future Wendy

“This villa is amazing it has more than you could imagine felt like millionaires for a week”

Jill and Richard were very helpful through out our stay at Casa Candaleria it was reassuring to know that they were there if we needed them for anything. The property is truly amazing pictures of this villa do not do it any justice, it is very spacious, clean and a superb location if you want away from the biz but close at hand by taxi, that is if you can tear yourself away from the villa with all its comforts and much more, to explore surrounding areas. the games room jacuzzi and swimming pool took up most of our leisure time with a few barbecue nights. A truly wonderful experience had by us all, will be returning some time soon.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your recent review. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at our holiday home and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

“A great villa with lots of space”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2013

8 of us spent a couple of weeks here in July. Spent all day in the pool then eat out in The evening. The 17-25yr olds enjoyed the aqua park in costa de guise and the western ranch evening is a good night. The location was close enough to the action but far enough away from the noise and with a car the whole island is accessible. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Owner's reply: Thank you so very much for your lovely review. It is nice to know we are getting it right. Kind Regards Wendy

“Great Villa, Very peaceful and very spacious”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2012

We stayed at this villa over Christmas 2011. We had a family of 2 adults and 3 children (8,8 and 3) and another family of 2 adults (mum and dad!) We all had plenty of room to spread out. The family of 5 all occupied the downstairs rooms while mum and dad occupied the room upstairs so we didn't feel on top of each other at all. The villa catered for everything. Plenty of cutlery and crockery etc. the wifi was really handy as my husband still had work to do :( The pool was fabulous (a little chilly but kids thought it was great) and the hot tub was fabulous. The games room looked good, but unfortunately on the first visit the kids found 2 cockroaches so were reluctant to revisit again!! The TV channels were a bit poor as we couldn't receive most of the Sky channels including BBC ITV etc. This was no problem when we were out but on the nights the kids were in bed early it was a bit of a nuisance. It was also cold on an evening (December time) but Wendy very kindly brought us some extra blankets. The villa was a bit away from Tias so a car is essential. There is a fabulous bakery in San Bartolome, best on on the Island. Also in San Bartolome there is a fabulous Go karting course which the kids loved. Would also recommend a trip over to Fuerteventura, The Texas Rancho is a great day out and Mata Gorda is a great visit where you can see the aeroplanes fly over head. All in all a great stay. Richard was very helpful and Wendy was lovely.

Owner's reply: Thank you so very much for the lovely rview. It is nice to know we are getting it right Kind Regards Wendy
