The ground floor has a sparkling new kitchen and dining area with a Godin wood burning stove; there is a separate toilet on this floor. The middle floor has a shower room and a lounge complete with sunny balcony and the top floor has a double bedroom and a tiny single bedroom. Retaining its original beams and ceiling height some of the top floor is limited in head space but definitely not in character.

Location description from owner

The Occitanie region

The Corbieres, situated near the coast, is a wine growing region of France and beautiful vineyards and chateaux are to be seen everywhere. Walking through the vineyards in the sunshine is an unforgettable holiday experience and you can do this at any time of the year as the temperature is so moderate in the winter months. This is an ancient and romantic area of France which is steeped in history; abbeys and churches abound and in Narbonne and Nimes are stunning Roman remains. You can also visit the imposing Cathar castles where medieval festivals are held in the summer to take you back in time. Two World Heritage Sites are also in this region, the Canal du Midi and La Cite, Carcassonne. If you prefer a more lively holiday, then the towns in this region provide excellent restaurants, bars and shops and all have very good markets. Theme parks are to be found in the beach towns, so you can visit Water Parks, Amusement Parks and even a Safari Park and a Tree Top Adventure Park. Lakes and rivers also provide a variety of water sports such as kayaking and rafting and, of course, on the coast you can windsurf, dive or sail.

Thezan-des-Corbieres

Thezan des Corbieres is situated just 16 miles from a selection of beaches (44 in total) and only 6km from a river perfect for swimming and watersports. It is a small wine making village surrounded by vineyards which provide many beautiful walks in the sunshine. Thezan has all the amenities necessary including a boulangerie that also doubles as a well stocked grocery store, a tabac, an Estate Agents, a Brocante and a lovely Bar/Restaurant. This is a lively and active village with a local Primary School, a large church and a busy Town Hall - the inhabitants (around 600) are very friendly and welcoming and you can experience true village life in France here. Only 4 miles away are two larger villages, St Laurent de la Cabrerisse and Fabrezan, both of which provide a further good choice of Cafes/Restaurants and Bars. 9 miles away the town of Lezignan has a variety of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and a flourishing market (Wednesdays).
