Description from owner

Description

Enjoying a quiet setting on the edge of the picturesque village of Strathpeffer, this detached architect-designed house has been equipped and furnished to ensure as comfortable and relaxing a holiday as possible. Just a few minutes walk from the centre of this beautiful spa village, Peffer Lodge makes an ideal base for exploring the many activities and attractions of this scenic part of the Highlands.

Mountain biking on the local forest trails, walking and climbing, water sports, fishing and golf with a challenging 18-hole course in the village are just some of the wide variety of activities. There is also an equestrian centre about 7 miles away where you can enjoy horse riding. For the less energetic, take a stroll along one of the many beaches of the Moray Firth where you may catch a glimpse of the resident dolphins or meander around some the many picturesque fishing villages. Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness and the Highland capital of Inverness are all less than an hour’s drive. Further afield, take a trip west to the Isle of Skye, Eilan Donan Castle and NTS Inverewe Gardens or north to the stunning land and seascapes of Sutherland and Caithness – often known as Europe’s last great wilderness. Shop, pub and restaurant 0.25 miles.

Available all year: changeover day is normally Saturday, but the owners can be flexible. Departing guests are asked to be out before 10am and new guests to arrive after 4pm. Short breaks are available off peak . Please enquire.

“Lovely house for large group to celebrate special birthday”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2018

House was very spacious and well equipped. Lots of room for 10 adults and baby as we celebrated a special birtbday Short walk to village and Red Poppy Restaurant which was excellent and not too far a drive to Inverness and Loch Ness boat trips.

Owner's reply: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. Lynda

“Loved it!”

Reviewed 25 Nov 2015

What a great house! After a long drive we arrived in the dark but the house was welcoming, warm and comfortable. It was very spacious and a great place to relax with friends. There are loads of walks straight from the house and it is only a short stroll into the village. We enjoyed a meal out at the Red Poppy Restaurant which was lovely. We will definitely be back to explore the area more and the kids loved the Table Tennis table in the garage.
