Villa Gaia is built at the edge of a traditional village surrounded by olives, oaks and Cretan herbs. The villa was an old stone built storage place, which was renovated keeping it's traditional character.

On the exterior of the villa, there is a beautiful garden as well as the swimming pool which has a size of 25 sq m, with sunchairs and umbrellas around. There is also a stone made barbeque and a nice veranda covered with a wooden pergola with beautiful views to the countryside .

Ideally suitable for 5 people, there are three bedrooms in the Villa, all with view to the sea – one with double bed and terrace, one with semi-double bed and terrace and one with twin beds. A baby cot is also provided to the guests.The house has a spacious dining and living room, traditionally decorated, with a fireplace and a smart satellite TV with a Blueray player and an open plan fully equipped kitchen. There is also one bathroom with W/C, and hydro massage bath. All of the rooms are fully air conditioned. The combination of the air conditioning, the fireplace and the sun heating makes the house suitable for all the seasons of the year.

The location of the villa is ideal as it is built in a quiet rural region, but very close to the beach and the city of Rethymno. It is also very close to some of the most important sightseeings of the region, the Arcadi monastery and the ancient city of Eleytherna. Villa Gaia is ideal for families , couples and individuals who would like to feel the independence and the real Cretan village life.

Getting around

Although there is public transportation from Rethymno to Skouloufia and the opposite, a car is neccessary as the bus passes only once a day from the village.

As the owner of the house, I would like to help my guests know my place and make my best so that they will have a wonderful experience in Crete, which they will remember forever. As a result, I am available anytime for their questions about the house and I will be happy to help them with suggestions about places worth visiting and activities. A booklet with the region's most famous sightseeings is in the house for the guests. A welcome pack of fruits, juices, soft drinks, water, wine olive oil, coffee, tea and cakes or cookies is also offered to the guests on their arrival's day.

1) Pets are allowed only after communication with the owner.
2) Towels and bed linen are changed every 5 days, along with the house cleaning.The cleaning as well as the change of the bed linen and the towels are included in the price.
3) The gate of the yard should be closed even when the visitor is in the house.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
