A delightfully, spacious, detached 4 bedroom and 4 bathroom villa, with private swimming pool, in the peaceful holiday resort of S'Algar.

The villa has 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, each with patio doors out to the pool area. There are 2 twin rooms, each with its own adjacent bathroom; one includes separate shower and bath, whilst the other is a shower room. The third bedroom, on the ground floor, is a double with ensuite shower room. The fourth bedroom is located at the front of the property, between the ground and first floor levels; it is also a double bed with ensuite bathroom (including separate shower and bath). All bedrooms are fitted with overhead fans and have ample wardrobe space.

The open plan dining and living space is on the first floor, adjacent to the kitchen. Patio doors lead out to a balcony terrace. In the living area: there is a TV and DVD player (large collection of DVD's), a radio/CD/USB/iPod player, provided for your entertainment. UK Freeview channels, are available through a set-top-box, streaming via the internet connection. The TV is a Smart TV, enabling you to use some online services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, if you have an account.

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, ceramic hob, washing machine, slimline dishwasher and American fridge freezer with ice-maker and water dispenser. Smoke detectors are fitted in each bedroom, with combined smoke/carbon monoxide detectors on each floor.

Situated in a quiet lane, with the pool and barbeque terraces to the rear, the villa is very private. The 8x4m pool has offset steps at the shallow end and underwater lighting for safe bathing after dark. There are ample sun beds to take advantage of both sun and shade. The traditional Menorcan chimney barbeque is on a large paved terrace adjacent to the pool, just waiting for you to cook up a wonderful outdoor feast.The villa is located less than 3-minutes walk from the sea front and the S'Algar Hotel. A 5-minute stroll (400 meters) will bring you to a small selection of shops, restaurants and a supermarket. The hotels in the resort also admit non-residents to their restaurants and entertainment evenings.

S'Algar is on the South East Coast of the Island, and is one of the best-kept resorts in Menorca. It is an ideal base whether you prefer a relaxing holiday or choose to be more active. A variety of pursuits are close by and these include scuba diving, bowling, tennis and swimming. There are interesting walks along the coast, one of which will take you to the historic cove at Alcaufar.

Car hire is not essential at this villa but is recommended in order to see more of this beautiful island.

Getting around

There is a public bus service into Mahon, from where you can get a connecting bus to almost anywhere on the Island. The buses run approximately every hour, the nearest bus stop, is located on 1st Avenue, a road that runs parallel to Calle 23, (one street up from the villa). There is a taxi rank sign on 2nd Avenue, near the round about, at the entrance of the resort, although taxis don't queue/wait here, the sign post gives a phone number to call a taxi.

“Great villa in a quieter location”

We absolutely loved our stay in Menorca and it was made all the easier by the wonderful accommodation. The pool and loungers were a great way to unwind and the villa had all of the amenities we needed for our ten day stay. The chilled water filter in the fridge was brilliant. There is a local minimarket and two bars within walking distance which serviced our needs for most of the holiday. The owner and agent were very helpful in planning our stay and offered good advice on possible destinations for a good meal or day out. We were very pleased with our stay and would consider coming again thanks.

Comfortable, spacious villa with lovely pool and grounds for relaxing in. Ideal for families/groups with older children (personal view due to the number of steps and open pool area). The resort of S'Algar is quiet with not much for the children to do, so a car would be advantageous, however we had a lovely holiday with 4 children aged 9-14 without a car.

We have recently returned from a most delightful holiday, with three couples, at the "Yorkshire Rose" Villa. This villa boasts all the comforts of home and more, upstairs lounge, dining area and kitchen all nicely blend into one another, the kitchen has all the mod cons you would ever want from toaster, dish washer, washing machine to microwave, and I must not forget to mention the American fridge/freezer with external ice and water dispensers, and (most important) ample storage for all your beers and wines, ha ha. The lounge comes complete with Sky TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, and "wow" free wifi. The stairs lead down to the four bedrooms, each with its own toilet and shower/bathroom, two of which are ensuite. Four bathrooms proved very useful, when everyone was getting ready to go out in the evening. Three of the bedrooms lead straight onto the large patio and into the decent size swimming pool, around the pool are plenty of quality sun beds , chairs, a couple of parasols and a barbecue area. We enjoyed a few quiet days relaxing round the pool, and although there are neighbouring villas, the pool area is very private. The villa has a parking area of its own for your hire car, and a limited sea view, it stands on a quiet road, but nowhere in the relaxed resort are you any more than a 5 minute walk from the sea front, shops and bars. We shall definitely consider returning in the future and would recommend this villa to anyone, whether families with kids or just adults.

A lovely spacious villa with open plan kitchen/dinning area which further spreads to the living area and balcony so that the family can always be together (if they want to be). The bedrooms are on the lower level with en-suite bathrooms all finished to a high standard. There is a decent TV (with a reasonable and varied DVD collection) and all normal appliances so that one can enjoy oneself in a relaxed and comfortable manner. We did enjoy the Gecko's on the balcony in the evening. The bedrooms open out onto the garden and swimming pool which dominates and is of a good size. It is all very nice and pleasant to while away the time there and again, everything is to a high standard. The driveway is a bit steep and requires good clutch control when pulling out into the road but is not a real problem. The estate that the villa is on is quiet and never seems to have any traffic meaning that it is easy to walk down to the sea and to walk along the shops there (less than 5 minutes) which makes for a pleasant evenings exercise after the rigours of doing precious little during the day. Beeches and more extensive restaurant options are available within a 10 minute drive and Mahon and airport are around a half hour drive. All in all, a very pleasant villa and a great holiday was enjoyed by our family. Strongly recommend.
