APARTMENT NEAR THE SEA
Great stay

We loved the location of this ground floor apartment in Son Bou. It is very quiet, yet a a short stroll to the beach, restaurants and amenities. We couldn't thank the owner enough for her attention. We had everything we needed in Maria Gracia's apartment, a very comfortable king size bed, clean bedding and towels, an excellent shower, a great kitchen, tv, washing machine, washing line and hair drier. The apartment was very clean and we enjoyed sitting at the patio table in the evenings. Maria Gracia is an excellent host and answered all our questions before we travelled to Menorca. We would love to use Maria Gracia's apartment again. … see more

Lovely Holiday at Casa Marcia

We had a lovely holiday at Casa Marcia. The Villa is equipped with everything you could need for a holiday plus more, the owners have thought of every detail. The Villa is situated in a central location and Cala en Porter is a lovely little town to act as a base for discovering Menorca. We went in the off season, so there wasn’t a lot open in terms of restaurants, so we took full advantage of the bbq and the pizza oven and the various helpful cook books in the bookcase and enjoyed cocktails on the roof top terrace and dinners al fresco on the patio. Traditional Minorcan Town House 'Casa Bon Estar'
A gift for those who want a taste of the real Menorca.

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Casa Bon Estar. Our hosts were very welcoming and exceptionally responsive - to the extent that, when a spectacular thunderstorm on our second night caused a power-surge that took out the induction hob in the kitchen, all it took was a simple text message to Joan and we had a brand new replacement, installed and fully functional in less than 4 hours. Try achieving that in the UK! There is no getting away from the fact that Casa Bon Estar is right in the middle of Alaior, nestled as it is in the narrow streets surrounding the 14th Century Church. However, having said that, the way the house has been renovated and redesigned means that it still feels quite private. The sun-deck on the top floor looks out to the West, so there is plenty of opportunity for sitting out in the evening with a glass or two of wine and enjoying the sunset. The fact that it is in the town means that there are plenty of useful shops for food etc. all within easy walking distance. The restaurant just across the road is good and not noisy - although if you are a fan of a really early night then do note that local businesses typically have a long break in the middle of the day and then open until late in the evening. In summer, (end of June to beginning of September) there is an evening market once a week which includes the street right outside the house - (this can have an impact if you are using the garage for your car). On the other hand we really enjoyed walking round the market and the free, live music was really very good. On the subject of the garage it is fine for a small car but could be a bit of a squeeze for anything significantly larger. (I am sure that Joan could proved measurements if required). Even if you decide not to use the garage, it's possible to pull up briefly outside the house to unload suitcases and shopping etc., without blocking the road completely. There is a free car-park within the town, just a few minutes walk away. The house is comfortably furnished; the kitchen is modern and well equipped; and there are fans in all the bedrooms for when it's hot. The wi-fi was perfectly adequate for the two of us. All in all we would definitely recommend Casa Bon Estar and look forward to staying there again in the future. … see more
Magister Gardens
Beautiful Magister Gardens

Magister Gardens is a unique house, as beautiful in real life as it is on the website. The house has been carefully designed and yet it is a holiday house that is easy to maintain. The simple and harmonious color scheme, the natural stone and the mediterranean light come together to create a restful and serene atmosphere. What a bliss ! The house is spacious and offers many places to relax, be it in the garden, in the pool area or inside. The gardens still need to be developed but there are many fruit trees, so we were able to make a jar of our own Magister Gardens fig jam… The pool is set in an old cistern, which makes it really special too. As for the surroundings, the small town of Alaior is lively and very authentic, many local people gather on the streets in the late afternoon and the cafes are full of joyous crowds having a drink before going home. We loved it. It's definitely worth driving to the beach rather than staying in a beach complex and miss the experience. As for Menorca, we fell in love with it. Pristine nature, beautiful beaches, no bling. So close to home and yet a real get-away. Than you for providing such a nice experience! We will be back. … see more

2 Bedroom Apartment , Sea View, Son Bou
Excellent apartment close to all amenities

We stayed at the 2 bed roomed apartment from Aug 19-26th 2014. It is in a quiet location and ideally situated in beautifully kept gardens away from Son Bou resort but only a 10 min walk to all the restaurants and 15 mins to the beach. The apartment had everything we needed including a front door which was difficult to lock from the inside and a faulty kettle but they were the only bad points during the week. There were also lovely views out to sea from the main balcony so it was nice to sip a beer whilst winding down from being in the sun all day watching the boats sail by! The on site swimming was ideal for younger children and La Gondola restaurant was a draw for my teenagers due to the free wifi!! A special mention too for Sebastian the wonderful attentive waiter both during the day and night. We had a car for the week which wasn't really necessary but we used it to visit and explore other resorts. All beaches we visited were exceptionally clean and were family friendly. The sea was crystal clear and you could walk out for miles and the water was only up to your waist. The Son Bou resort wasn't big so we just about exhausted all the restaurants after the week there but they were all good quality and reasonably priced. There was also an excellent bakery (open 8-2pm daily) 5mins walk away in the neighbouring Son Jamie complex which sold lovely bread, croissants and cakes. We would definitely return to the same apartment again as it had everything we needed for a enjoyable and relaxing week away. … see more
