La Cazalla stands seemingly-alone in a scenic fertile valley, just 10 minutes' drive from the historical and fascinating town of Ronda. The main house and surrounding buildings of this luxury holiday rental blend naturally into the landscape, having been built around the native rock (see photos of our living areas within the main house). With a total of six bedrooms, our home is perfect for families, friends reunions and groups of up to 12 people looking for a private villa in Andalucia.

The main house is elegant, cool and spacious, with many different areas for a large group to spread out and relax. Discover three tastefully-furnished living areas on split levels, a kitchen and a dining room, providing plenty of space for your family and friends to read, play card games, watch a film or listen to music. Sleep soundly in the five double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms containing beautiful mosaic tiled walk-in showers with adjustable mood lighting.

Our well-supplied kitchen was designed for a professional chef and provides all the cooking utensils and basic pantry items you need to prepare meals for a large group.

The three luxurious lounges on different levels and the dining room are very atmospheric, with walls set into the natural rock. The dining table comfortably seats twelve and sufficient china and cutlery are provided.

The Casa Principal is always rented along with El Nido, which is a large air-conditioned private suite attached to the main house. The suite has its own entrance, pretty terrace and bathroom, a perfect place for members of your family and large group who need or desire a space of their own with the benefit of air conditioning.

Our Roman-inspired pool is only heated naturally by the sun, but it is surrounded by fragrant lavender and stunning views. For your comfort there are:

• Shaded areas

• Cold freshwater showers fed straight from our spring

and many different terraces surround the house, with areas for relaxing, dining, snoozing and admiring the view.

There are so many different spots to choose from within the grounds, you’ll be hard-pressed deciding what to do!

• Search for tadpoles in the stream

• Stroll along to the 12th Century ‘alberca’ (English: 'water cistern')

• Take a drink up to the old threshing circle and watch the sun change the colours of the gorge from orange to pink. If you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of the deer as the owls start hooting.

The area around La Cazalla has barely changed since the Romans, and later the Moors, inhabited it. Once here a feeling of peace prevails: the sounds of insects buzzing, birds singing, bells jangling on goats in the forest and the breeze rustling the leaves on the trees. It is difficult to spot any other sign of human life, and yet the sense that man has lived in this valley for thousands of years is very strong.

Gosh! How to respond to such kind words?! We had quite a bit of contact with Dave and Ellen’s group before they arrived, helping them plan their trip, so it was great to get to know them all during their stay. Dave was the the first guest we have had who tested positive for Covid and we were so pleased to be able to make things as easy as possible for them. We loved having them as ‘neighbors’! They left as friends and we hope very much that our paths cross again in the future.

Why can't I call Lisa (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lisa (the owner) a message.

If Lisa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
