The mission of our family owned boutique Historic Mercer Building is to provide you ~ our guests ~ with upscale intimate, comfortable accommodations in an urban, lively small downtown country setting. Located in the heart of Washington Wine Country these 2 lovely on-suites have been beautifully restored including the 110+ year old straight grain Douglas Fir floors and stunning 8' high by 3' wide windows.

We are proud to truly be a green building; built in 1906 by Willis Mercer and now owned and managed by great and great-great granddaughters. Truly adaptive reuse! This building housed all of Willis' children when they first married.

These 2nd floor suites now contain full kitchens, bathrooms and over the top of town views to the surrounding Yakima Valley. Fast wi fi and 32" Smart TVs, walk-in showers, and top of the line beds provide truly great relaxation. Or head downstairs and enjoy a morning latte, lunch or live weekly music at Brewminatti.

We offer guests a complimentary bottle of family owned Mercer Estates wine and guest passes to the Club 24 gym downstairs. Central AC and heat will keep you comfortable. You can walk to public tennis courts, the Saturday farmer's market, Prosser's seasonal Aquatic Center, local brew pubs and fun eateries in the community. Don't worry if you need a cook-in item - the community grocer is a block away! A great cycling trail links lower valley communities or try great golfing in surrounding communities.

We are sorry Skye for your experience here at the Historic Mercer. We are a non-animal property due to other guest’s allergies, and issues surrounding animals in a 2nd floor location. We made an exception for your emotional needs dog which turned out to be a very energetic pit bull unbeknownst to us until your arrival. The animal scared other residents. As you know we are also a smoke free property and the smell of marijuana smoke coming out of the rooms you stayed in made it difficult for us to be welcoming hosts after multiple warnings. We hope you found a more suitable home, Kind regards.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Julie (the owner) a message.

If Julie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
