Located on the beach of Poste lafayette, a quiet region on the East coast of Mauritius, Villa Orisha is of high standards. As a recent building, it offers the best of modern comfort.

Spacious, the villa counts 4 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, (inclusive of a semi-detached studio which can be rented separately,) comfortably accommodating up to 8 adults+2 adolescents. A swimming pool area with terrace at the back makes an extra sitting area the main living room.

Poste Lafayette is a perfect location on the East coast of Mauritius, at a 30-minute drive to Grand Bay, the starting point of several nautical excursions but especially where several restaurants and shops can be found, at 10 to 15 mins to the golf courses of Belle Mare and 20 minutes to Trou D'Eau Douce a village of the East coast where more boating excursions are offered, especially boat shuttles to "Ile-aux-Cerfs" the reputed islet and its golf course.

Poste Lafayette is also a very good kitesurfing spot.

A housemaid comes 6 days a week from 9.00 am till 1.00 pm. She can stay one extra hour for cooking for an extra 20.00 € (800 Rs)

A welcome-pack including first meal + first breakfast and some basic groceries can be organised upon prior request (~60 € for 4 persons)

Let me start by saying I don't usually leave reviews but felt the need to after a disappointing quite costly holiday. This was our second trip to the island, the first being way better. Villa Or… More

Owner's reply: Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for taking your time to review our property. We are sorry to hear that your stay was not as expected. Kindly note that at your booking time back in January 2016, we were not aware of the exact dates of the end of the construction two villas away from us. Based on the construction company, they mentioned to us that all works should be finished by September 2016. We therefore did not take any bookings during this period. The privacy of the villa remains a focus and we are truly sorry and acknowledge that the construction site was a hassle. We did everything in our control to reduce the issue in order to make your stay the most comfortable possible. On top of that, a catamaran day out trip or a tea route trip has been offered which was turned down as you mentioned you preferred an in-house massage which was also offered. Also note that another commercial gesture was proposed with the accommodation of six of yours friends free of charge for the week-end in the other two rooms and our personal apartment. The east coast remains one of the most natural place in Mauritius and even if we have regular cleaning of the beach, we cannot prevent that sometimes there are some seaweeds. We have taken note for the access to the beach. Kindly note that the Mauritian law requires an access to the beach every 200 mts and this access is only used by the people living in the alley, so 4 houses in all. Again we are truly sorry to hear that your stay was disappointing, we however remain confident that your next stay with us will be stunning as this is the first negative review that we receive on our beautiful Villa Orisha. We have travelled the world and are fortunate for this. So what I say is in comparison to many places. First, the people of Maritius and its whole are wonderful, warm and welcoming. Villa Orisha was our wonderful welcome to this incredible warm environment. The Villa iteslf is located in heaven (the heavev of seas). We mean gorgeous...right "smack" on the beach..with beatuiful. I could not get enough of the view. The view was from the living room, the patio, the beach area and the master bedroom. Listineing to the waves (mild as they were ) 24/7 was so peaceful. We didn't really want to venture anywhere since it was such a delight (ok, better than delight). The masterbedroom had a full on view of the ocean. The livingroom as well. The incredibly large dining table (behind the living room) also had a view and was perfect for dinners..(romantic,...they always had candles to light....lovely and perfect touch). The kitchen was incredibly well stocked...we didn't take advantage of the cook since we didnt' really speak French well and were not able to communicate about food preferences. . So we primarily cooked for ourselves which was fine since we were jet lagged and woke up at 5:30 am...had breakfast and returned after their hours were done. The house was wonderfully kept!!! (wow...what a treat on vacation) and laundry to boot! I cannot say enough wonderful words about this place...We went as a couple only. The upstairs had two bedrooms. One with a double bed and also looked out on the ocean...with a window that would open wide with its own bathroom. The third with a view on the swimming pool (without was cold) and also its own bathroom. I think this is a perfect place for a family. If several couples, one would have to have a lottery to see who got to stay at the master bedroom vs other bedrooms.....AGAIN ,,....I was very sad to leave this was perfection! Oh was quiet...i mean wonderfully quiet. Birds, ocean, etc. We took a 3 hour walk on the beach (and we could have gone further, this is how incredible this beach is) and we ran into (maybe) 5 people. Swimming was OK....a bit cold for me. Kite surfing was right next door...but we didn't take advantagel. WE did go diving. The lagoon in front of the house was divine (but cold as i mentioned). We would come back. soon if it was not so far away (we live in San francisco and Hawaii.....yet it was worth the long voyage!!). Only one criticism...payment was required through our banks or westeron union. A bit of a pain for us in the US where credit cards or paypal are the norm and easier. However, we realize this is how it is done in Mauritius..but food for thought. Thank you Villa Orisha...for one of my very very best holidays!!!! Life is good.
