“Best Family Honeymoon :-)” All I can say is WOW!! From beginning to end our experience with Villa Ayr was nothing but INCREDIBLE. We got married in September and wanted to take my husband's kids (13 / 10) with us on a special holiday so we decided on Mauritius as the kids had never been overseas before. From the moment we made contact with Brigitte everything ran smoothly - she arranged a transfer from the airport, car rental and ensured there was some food and drink was in our fridge on our arrival. The accommodation was just perfect with spacious bedrooms and plenty of relaxation room including an amazing patio. Brigitte and James hospitality was nothing but PHENOMENAL - they delivered fresh bread to our door step every monring, suggested local restaurants and side cafe's, booked all our excursions, arranged an amazing New Years dinner, and the list goes on. One of the kids highlights was Brigitte arranged for the kids to try out scuba diving in one of the local hotel swimming pools. All I can finish off by saying is that I would recommend Villa Ayr to anyone looking at going to Mauritius and wanting to experience the island, we loved it so much we actually going back in August this year. “Brilliant, private villa close to the best beaches in Mauritius” The villa is above average in spec and size with its own pool and surrounded by a walled garden. Absolutely perfect if you want privacy. We were happy to swap days by the pool or on the multitude of balconies with days spent on the superb beaches of Belle Mare which were lieterally 5 minutes away. Shopping was easy with a choice of supermarkets in nearby Centro Flact. It was missing a couple of minor items but I'm assured that the owner has purchased them and we started a 'visitors book' so I hope that provides local information to help.

“Great location, lovely staff, excellently organised” My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks with our 2 year old daughter in November. Having considered a number of hotels in the area we happened upon this self catering option and decided that for the cost and ease that a house could be a good option for us. We could not have been happier. The owner, Louise, really makes the difference as far as I'm concerned. Her information sheet was invaluable but before ariving and whilst we were there. The help, Ravi and Ouma, were exactly as described, trustworthy, kind and helpful. The house is a well used and loved beach house. It is not a minimalist, luxury pad and is all the more comfortable for it. The bedrooms are large and bright and breezy (with excellent A/C which only needs to be on for 5 minutes and the room is cool), there is plenty of storage for all your things. There are oodles of towels and bath robes and the bedding is changed each week for you too. The showers, whilst old, work perfectly and are very very hot. and the house itself is so well appointed, at no point did I look for something in the kitchen and not find it. The location couldn't be much better. You are right by the beach with plenty of beach either sied of the house to walk to. There are rock pools to play in, crabs to find, fish to look at and starfish in the water right outsode the house. The hotels either side are close enough and whilst we only used a couple - the Lux and the Residence - for dinner, had we not been as tied to the house we would have used them far more. The thing about this place is that it offers the best of both worlds. The flexibility of self catering, the great prices of the island and the accesability of the hotels restaurants and bars and watersports should you wish to use them. We had Ravi's wife make us dinner a few times - mauritian food delivered ready to eat to the door - and it was absolutely to die for. What a luxury on a self catering holiday to have food cooked for you, but to still feel relaxed and easy. The pool next to the house is clean and was practically emplty all the time we were there. The garden with daybed means that you can do very little (and trust me we did) and still not feel housebound. The weather was incredible, the breeze coming from the sea was very welcome on our hot hot days. In no way did we make the most of the island or even the local area (with a 2 year old who slept for 2-3 hours each day at home so that we were able to relax and sunbathe in the garden) but we would absolutely make more of it when we (hopefully) return. I really would say this was excellent value for money and have already recommended it to friends and family. Many many thanks Louise.

We had some small snags with villa, but it was forgiven as the architecture of these villas is breathtaking and the pool is gorgeous. I have to recommend Laurence the villa manager (she is Happy Blue villa rental in Mauritius), she was proactive and absolutely so so helpful. She organised the chef (fab), the taxi transfer, the hire car, my wine delivery, so we were fully stocked all stay...and in fact anything you wanted...She also recommended Isle De Coco visit which was amazing.
