Description

The Dray House is a contemporary apartment designed for self catering, which adjoins the owners house built in c1870, located in the pretty village of Pagham & Nyetimber, West Sussex. Adapted from part of the original house, a larger traditional house built c1870, which used to house the brewery supplying beer for the local public house which is sited opposite the property - The Lamb Inn.

Recently modernised and extended the separate self catering 1 bedroom apartment, makes the ideal setting for short breaks for a relaxing long weekend, being ideally positioned for exploring the local countryside or visiting Arundel Castle, the beautiful city of Chichester and can be used as a base for the various internationally renowned events held at the nearby Goodwood estate.

The self contained, open plan, ground floor accommodation is all on one level and comprises of a main vaulted lounge area with a small dining table and two chairs, off this there is a separate large walk-in shower room and a compact but well equipped kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine also adjoining the lounge is the bedroom well furnished with a king sized bed. Outside there is designated parking area and a secluded shared garden with a seating area which guests may use. The apartment is fitted to a high standard with a 50" flat screen SMART 3D TV with FreeView, high speed ethernet access and WIFI, along with a superb Bang & Olufsen sound system with CD/Radio and loudspeakers. Seating in the main living area comprises of a large leather sofa and two classic Eames lounge chairs with ottomans.

Within walking distance of the apartment there are a number of shops including; Post office/village shop, betting agent, Tesco Extra, Indian and Chinese take-away (also serving English dishes - pretty good fish & chips) and some really great pubs with restaurants. A number of footpaths are close by leading to Pagham Harbour RSPB Nature Reserve across the fields and the pebble beach of Pagham  itself is approximately within 15 mins walk.

Getting around

The private drive at The Dryhouse has plenty of parking, please bring your car. But the bus stop is only one minutes walk away with local buses to Bognor Regis & Chichester. An hourly service runs along the South Coast from Portsmouth to Brighton. Trains from Chichester and Bognor stations have daily trains into London Victoria

“Everything you need”

Lovely studio apartment, very comfortable and clean with everything we needed for our short break. The Dray is attached to the owners house so they were on hand to be very welcoming. Pagham has shops and several pubs, we only ate at one, the Lion, which was fine. Didn’t visit the area as we were there for a Goodwood meeting which is only 5 miles from a Pagham so it’s a good base for Goodwood events. We will be back!

The apartment was in excellent condition with a high standard of furniture and fittings. The owner was friendly and the personal touch was evident in the apartment with welcome food and toiletries in the bathroom. There were many Pubs, take away shops and local stores within walking distance. Although we did not use them. We had a lovely break.

At the moment of booking, we were not sure about what we shoud expect for that price but all doubts were gone at our arrival. It is a lovely place to stay, really smart furniture with preference on the details, clean, so we felt secure. There was everything you need to stay a couple of days, hair dryer, a complete equiped kitchen & bath towels where there too, lucky we because we forgotten ours. Even if it's build directly to the main village street you don't hear any car noises inside. Pub, post office, tesco and restaurant are all around less then 5 minutes by walking. The only negative point we have to mention was that the kitchenware(pots) weren't well cleaned but perhabs this has to do with the people who stayed there before us, and not by any manner of means with the owners themself. So at the end we can say the quality/price ratio was really good and we'll certainly rent the flat again when we go back to that region, because we really liked it :D Big thanks

How do damage deposits work?
