Very Good

“Excellent Villa Rana”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2016

Travelled in October as a family of 2 adults and 1 teenager. Was delighted by the property. The villa itself was very spacious and well equipt, but for me ir was the outside space that made it just amazing. A very spacious terrace offering shade if it was required with plenty of space to eat outside. An excellent stone built bbq area which we enjoyed, and the pool was to die for, a little cool in October, however I swam everyday and one evening and a lovely view out over the fruit trees in fromt of the villa. Frank the owner was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, giving us lots of tips on places to visit locally. A car is essential, it is a good 30-40 minutes walk into Nerja itself, probably another 10 minutes right down to the Balcon de Europa and a challenging 45 minutes minimum back up the hill. The only negative is the steep and very rutted access road as has previously been mentioned. Would I return? Absolutely!

“A relaxing holiday in an unspoilt part of Southern Spain”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2013

A very well equipped villa, and a generous "welcome" pack, together with a lot of helpful advice about the area from Frank. We spent 2 weeks and ticked off most of the recommendations he gave us. The hi-light of our stay had to be the festival of San Antonio the patron saint of Frigiliana where we experienced true local flavour and gave us a day to remember. We had not visited this part of Spain before and were delighted with both Nerja and Frigiliana which are an easy 5 minutes drive away. The walk in the river valley at Frigiliana was another hi-light, I doubt if we would have known about it but for Frank. The garden of the villa is secluded whilst being very convenient for the motorway, and the pool invited us for a dip every day of our stay. Especially good are the various seating areas and built-in BBQ. As previous renters have said, Frank is a very helpful host and nothing is too much trouble for him. In fact we enjoyed our stay so much, we are going to return next year!

“Lovely Villa in great spot”

Reviewed 29 May 2013

We all had a very enjoyable holiday in this lovely villa. As with previous review, Frank is really friendly and helpful and give us some good tips for places to visit. The house feels like home from home with everything you could need. The swimming pool, terraces and barbeque area are superb and the surrounding gardens & trees are really lovely. It is very convenient for both Nerja & Frigliana. We would definitely consider using it again on our next visit to Nerja.

“Best Holiday Ever”

Reviewed 17 May 2013

As already stated by other reviewers, Frank is a star and really sets your holiday off on the right note. He recommended car hire companies months in advance, when we arrived took us to a local shop for necessities as the major supermarkets were closed because it was a Spanish holiday and sat down with us to draw a map of local places to visit. The river walk he recommended in Frigliana was a highlight of the holiday. The villa itself is set down a short off road path and is secluded and very secure. Internally it’s decorated rustic like a Spanish villa should be and was very clean and tidy when we arrived. All kitchen utensils necessary were supplied as well as various spices and oils. The ground floor and upper floor living areas are more than substantial for the amount of time we spent in doors and the bedrooms and bathrooms are of a good standard. The outside area is where we spent most of the days and nights and this cannot be faulted. The balcony terrace was large with plenty of seating and several potted plants. The barbecue area is a dream for anybody who loves outside dining. The pool was fantastic and was a perfect size, we had to drag the kids out of it kicking and screaming. And the orchard with many fruit trees and beautiful flowers was fantastic for strolling round and exploring. I would highly recommend and cannot wait to go back next year.

“Welcoming, warm, clean, friendly and peaceful.”

Reviewed 6 May 2012

From the very generous welcome pack (for which no charge was made), to the most accommodating owner, we couldn't have asked for a better start to our holiday. The villa was spotless inside and out and well equipped for all our needs. The pool was well maintained and scrupulously clean. The orchard and garden were a joy to spend time in and Frank told us to help ourselves to the fruit. Frank could not have been more helpful and his knowledge of the area and places to visit was invaluable, he even took the time to sit with us, draw maps and highlight upcoming festivals. The location was ideal for solitude, beaches, mountains, villages and town, with easy access from the airport. Regarding the previous review, the driveway is steep and rough but no more so than many others in the region and certainly not unsafe. As regards safety issues in the villa, there are none. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa most highly.

“conned by villa owner”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2012

At first seeing access road shocked at the very steep incline and dreadful condition of the surface extremly dangerous if wet, hire cars beware of likley damage. the house is totally unsutiable for guests with retsricted mobility indeed deciedley unsafe. specifically open staircase leading up to the upper level and the steep staircase leading to the basement were the bedrooms and the bathroom were situated. The seating in lounge area was dirty and was only fit for the rubbish. Outside was all so a disgrace furniture should have been thrown out years ago Barbaque area and the gardens were full of rubbish and weeds electric plugs hanging out inside and outside of house.Light bulbs missing no digital tv or wasnt working. No welcome pack. had to go and source other accomadation. Then frank charged 50 euros for overnight stay in this disgusting home Renters beware

“Perfect, quiet and peaceful but not remote”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2011

We had a lovely week here, the villa is great for a quiet getaway. It is very close to Nerja and the supermarkets and also to Frigiliana so we had the best of both worlds. The outside space is brilliant, lovely big pool, BBQ area and huge garden full of all kinds of fruit trees. It is not overlooked at all and the sea view from the terraces is lovely, just the place to eat a leisurely breakfast, a great start to the day. The villa gets the sun all day and you can sit and watch the sun set from any part of the garden or terraces. Frank the owner is brilliant, he met us and showed us around everything and told us where the best places were to eat, shop and explore, he couldn't have been more helpful, we felt we could call on him if there was a problem, always useful if you can't speak the language. We will definitely go back again.

“Very nice property”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2011

This property was exactly as the pictures! Almost to good to be true! We had a marvelous time, the children loved the big pool and garden, the house was very clean and complete and had a big patio al around. The property is near to the very nice city Nerja with the famous balcony of europe and several nice beaches. Malaga is not to far, there is a big shopping center in Velez Malaga, there are caves in Nerja, and some nice villages to visit. We will definitly come back to this property.

“Great vacation home”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2011

We decided on this place as it looked cosy and was very close to the beach; also, we like to barbecue and the pictures showed a little barbecue hut. We were not disappointed: a very cute house, conveniently located 50min from Malaga, 70min from Granada, and 90min from Ronda, not even 5min to Nerja with it's beautiful beaches. The landlord greeted us when we came off the autobahn and he made the stay really pleasant as he not only told us where we would find everything nearby, but also had filled the refrigerator with gazpacho, tortilla, beer, wine and a fresh loaf of bread......!!! We grilled fresh fish every night, enjoyed the wonderful (and quite deep!) pool, and of course the wonderful September sun. The house is surrounded by avocado, mango and pomegranate trees. We would come back any time.
