The Riviera del Sol is a pleasure to explore on foot with orange tree lined avenue, magnificent villas and hidden parks. The beach has soft sands, interesting rock pools and safe surf, making it an excellent option for a lazy day in the sun. In the evening there is a large choice of restaurants from those serving international cuisine, cocktails and nightlife, in a white, sophisticated atmosphere to traditional chiringuito’s on the beach where the menu is shorts, flip flops and fresh paella. Entertainment for the energetic is as varied, from water parks and sports to shopping for handbags in the local market or watching flamenco dancing in La Cala square.

AquaMijas Waterpark in Fuengirola (April to September) Kamikaze, Adventure River, and Labyrinth Slides are sure to provide fast and fun entertainment while there are also more low key mini slides fit for younger children about 15 minutes on the bus.
Selwo Marina Benalmadena for a fun afternoon watching sea life entertainment and you can even book your own swimming session with the dolphins or sea lions about 20 minutes by car.
Donkey rides for the children or horse drawn carriages for the family are a great way to tour the beautiful and traditional white washed village of Mijas about 20 minutes by car.
Famous for its artesian boutiques, beautiful beaches, wealthy population and even its “Marbs” culture, a visit to Marbella is an opportunity not to be missed. Orange Square in Marbella Old Town is a hidden gem, only 8 minutes from the beach where the beautiful plaza is shaded by the boughs of its famous orange trees and tapas bars and delightful restaurants offer the best of Andalusian cuisine. Marbella is about 30 minutes by bus.
Visit the exclusive restaurants, designer shops and mega yachts in chic international Puerto Banus about 25 minutes by car.
Stroll along the boardwalk from the Riviera del Sol to La Cala de Mijas where you will find quaint shops, tempting Spanish restaurants, traditional Flamenco dancing in the square, side by side with the internationally renowned Elliot Wright’s “Olivia’s” about 25 minutes walk or 10 minutes by bus.
Locally grown fruit and veg, handmade crafts, vintage items, antique goods and an ubiquitous flea market, all make up the extensive market found twice weekly in Fuengirola about 20 minutes by bus.
Malaga City boasts a sleek port, an exciting culinary scene, an abundance artistic attractions including, of course, the famous Picasso Museum and a rich variety of historic architecture to admire including its 16th century cathedral, the Moorish citadels of the Alcazaba and Gilfarbaro, and a Roman Amphitheatre. From its cobbled streets of the old quarter to its gleaming boutique stores and rooftop bars in the city centre, the possibility to explore extends down to the sea and the palm-tree-dotted sands of Playa de la Malagueta. Here children play during the day and adults party at night to music concerts and fireworks during Malaga’s summer festival. Malaga is about 40 minutes by car.
Not for the faint hearted, the world famous Caminito del Ray mountain trail runs along pathways and boardwalks that are either pinned to the steep cliffs of rugged canyons or suspended high above spectacular gorges. The 8 km trail runs along the Hoyo Valley to the famous rock climbing centre of El Chorro and is about 1 hour by car.
Magnificent scenery and grand architecture are breath-taking over the El Tajo gorge in Ronda about 1 hour 15 minutes by car or local coach trip.
Duty free shopping, views to the Riff Mountains of Morocco from the southernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula and getting to meet the famous Rock Apes make for an unforgettable trip to Gibraltar about 1 hour by car or local coach trip.
