Location description from owner

The Burgundy region

Burgundy is one of the great wine regions of the world and the Cote D'Or, the Golden Slope, is the 30km stretch of hillside, smothered in vines, from which come its finest and most reknown wines. A trip along the Route Des Grands Crus, the wine tasting road that runs alongside the slope, takes you through the magical names of Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuit St Georges, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny Montrachet and Meursault itself. These villages and their wine makers are the big attraction here, but the rolling, cultivated land has it's own beauty and walking amongst the vines is both energising and educational. The villages, ancient and calm, could not be more typique of the French countryside. The medieval town of Beaune is a treat in itself and the regions restaurants, gourmet shops and wine bars make for wonderful long and languid evenings.

Meursault

Meursault is famous for its rich, golden white wines. But its winding lanes and 17 th century houses make it a charming place to stay. It has over 60 winemakers in what is the largest village on the Cote. There a 4 restaurants in the main square, all of excellent quality ranging from rustic to finer cuisine and there a a number of food shops to buy local produce for eating at the house.

“Fantastic house in Meusault, France”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2013

This 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms house is in a great location for visiting the Bourgogne wine region as well as day trips to Morvan and Dijon. It is a short drive to Beaune. The queen -sized beds are comfortable, the decor lovely, the WiFi reliable, kitchen is very well set up for cooking and most of all it is quiet. You will sleep well here after your day of hiking or sight-seeing. The small garden is lovely for relaxing. The owners were easy to deal with, quick to reply to our inquiry for rental and so helpful with suggestions. They also have detailed information at the house including guide books, how to use appliances, hook-up to the WiFi and even how the door locks work - which we really appreciated. The door locks are easy to operate by the way but it helped to have the instructions the first time we needed to lock the doors. We really appreciated the complimentary wine, milk and cake as we arrived on Sunday afternoon when the shops were closed. We will most definitely recommend this house to our friends and family.

“Super house in a great village and area”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2012

The house was recently restored and the final results are outsranding. Mersault is a great little village with excellent dining and it is a great location to explore Burgandy .

“an ideal house and location to savour all that Burgundy has to offer.”

Reviewed 31 May 2012

The house is recently refurbished to a modern and tasteful finish. It is fully equipped and furnished with all that one requires for a short term stay ( we stayed 6 nights). The bathrooms are excellent and the kitchen, modern and functional. The location on the edge of Meursault is quite but in a pretty setting. A car is necessary for visiting the Beaune and the villages of this region of Burgundy. Extensive visitor information was available in the house. The wifi connected easily and was reliable.

“modern, comfortable, decorated and furnished to high standard”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2012

This is a modern house and furnished to a very high standard. I would recommend this to a young couple, family or group of friends looking for a high standard. It is good location for visiting many of the wine cellars in the region and for making visits around the Bourgogne region.

“Perfect house for two couples.”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2011

Very unpretentious from the outside but once through the entry into the kitchen we knew we had booked a jewel of a property! Well furnished and spotlessly clean. Great beds and bathrooms. Showers were great and the heated towel bars are a great touch. Only thing we might suggest would be a small microwave in the kitchen. All in all, great house in a charming little town with at least four good restaurants walking distance away.

“A superbly equipped and conveniently located holiday property”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2011

This bright and clean holiday property is superbly equipped with everything needed to make your stay as comfortable and effortless as possible. There is a delightful and extremely private courtyard garden, a sun trap on warm days. The house is situated a short, easy walk into the centre of Mersault, where all amenities are provided, including four very good restaurants and excellent food shops. . All the main Burgundy wine producing towns and villages are within very easy reach by car and the "wine route" through the local Burgundy vineyards - on foot or cycling - passes very close to the property. The journey by car from the UK is simple and direct using various autoroutes right from Calais to Beaune, which is less than 15 minutes straight route to Mersault. Both the owner and the property managers answered any queries very promptly and were helpful, friendly and efficient. We had a most relaxing break and would happily return to this property which we can highly recommend.

“Meursault Magic”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2011

An ideal place to stay for exploring the area which is a foodie's/wine lover's heaven. The house was very comfortable with all mod cons. We stayed there over New Year so it must be even more delightful in the sun!

“Fantastic place to stay”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2011

We stayed in Meursault for six nights. The house had everything we could wish for....even scales in the kitchen for cooking! It was like being at home. Every morning we would go to the boulangerie for our croissants so by the end of our stay we felt like locals, especially when we went to one of the local restaurants and the woman commented that she had seen us running through their vineyards the morning before! Sarah and David made everything very easy for us right from our first email everything was explained perfectly, then when we got to the house it was a lovely surprise as everything was very well kept. Meursault is very close to Beaune and other wine towns, we also took Sarah's advise and visited some great restaurants in Meursault and Beaune. We will definitely be staying there again!

“Outstanding experience, tasteful, fully supplied townhouse in wine country.”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2011

This was a delightful experience from beginning to end. The owners provided information that we requested immediately upon receiving our queries, and there was a folder upon our arrival that gave additional information. The property itself was sophisticated but warm - lovely stone courtyard with teak furniture and an herb garden. The kitchen had an advanced technology stove we enjoyed using and a washing machine discretely hid behind sliding panels. Bathrooms were elegantly designed. The town itself was a delight. We strolled among stone walls peeking into charming courtyards, and had wonderful meals at the town's restaurants. Exploring the areas small towns was a treat. We have no hesitation in recommending this site to friends.
