Beautiful relaxing stay

We stayed in the beautiful holiday house from 22 nd - 29th July 2017. The owners were excellent, before our stay they answered all our questions very quickly and were very helpful in giving instructions on how to find the property. on arrival we were greeted by the owners and showed around the property and they left wine and cake from the local area for us. They then left us alone to enjoy our stay. The property was very clean and had everything we needed, the pool was very clean too and the kids had many hours of fun in it! The setting was so quiet and very beautiful the children loved the animals that surrounded the property and even got to feed them, Best of all they loved the cat. There is a great theme park with zoo only 45 minute drive away this was a hit with the kids. Also Autun is a lovely village to visit only a short drive and has a boating lake, bowling , shops etc fun for all the family. Great holiday would definitely recommend. … see more

International relations all well

Hosts and their family were warm welcoming and extremely easy to get along with through out. They made special efforts to show two Aussie cyclists some additional features of their district including Bastille fireworks and World Cup finals. Room was neat and tidy on arrival but the overall positivity was that it remained comfortable even though it was hot outside. We were impressed with small details such us dietary preferences- meals provided were excellent. Thoroughly recommend for a quiet get away in rural France. … see more
Cottage in the countryside
Wonderful rural base in the Morvan

If you love nature, and need an away-from-it-all break, this is the gite for you! The accommodation is at the end of a traditional Morvan long house, with geese and chickens underneath, an open terrace with fantastic views, and an enclosed private garden at the back. This is a converted farm building and Jannie has kept the rustic feel, while providing everything you could ever need. Baby's high chair ? yes, microwave oven ? yes, log burner for the cold evenings? yes, washing machine, parasol for the terrace, barbecue, swing outside, coffee machine, gates to stop children wandering, dishwasher - it's got the lot! But the important things are that Alain and Jannie are such warm, friendly hosts, who help but don't intrude, and the peace and quiet. The gite is on a small road (which sometimes gets two tractors a day !) but is 10Km from any source of noise and disturbance, allowing guests to relax, unwind and enjoy a real break from today's hustle.
