Loft apartment Haus Frederick is ideally situated for a SKIING or SUMMER holiday of a lifetime. With its breathtaking views from the balcony, lock up ski storage and cosy atmosphere this tasteful and well equipped apartment is situated a short walk along the river to the beautiful and unspoilt village of Maria alm . The village offers many good quality restaurants bars and cafes,. supermarkets banks and shops. Maria alm is part of the Hochkonig ski region which links the 5 villages of Maria alm, Hintermoos, Hintertal, Dienten and Mulbach . The lift pass also takes in Zell am see, Saalbach , Hinterglem , Alpendorf Filzmoos etc even as far afield as Kitzbuhl. The wide and varied runs are ideal for beginners and experts alike .Free ski show every Tuesday and great apres ski bars.
The area offers many outdoor persuits in the summer as well as the winter . Water park. Summer toboggan runs, Hiking , walking ,mountain biking , tree surfing, cannioning etc and the 18 hole golf course situated behind the apartment makes this a golfers paradise. Ideally situated for trips to Krimml waterfalls. Werfen Ice caves and the Kitsteinhorn for summer skiing and toboganning. The apartment has 1 double room ,a bunk room and double sofa bed in the lounge which makes it ideal for families . outside is a play area with swings etc and table tennis.The south facing balcony has a table and chairs for dining alfresco whilst drinking in the breath taking views. There is live music somewhere in the village most evenings and on Tuesday evenings the village put on a spectacular ski show in winter and showcase local talents ( dancing singing etc) in the middle of the village in summer. There are also many activities in nearby Saalfelden and Zell am see.

My wife, little boy aged 3 and myself stayed here for a week over xmas. We love the apartment and from the moment we booked it, Sue went out of her way to give us all the info we could need and even left us a gift and our little boy a xmas present(which he loved) The apartment has everything you could need and was very comfy with an amazing view from the balcony. It was about a ten minute brisk stroll into Maria alm village and again, it was perfect. The people are very friendly and the apris ski is great. We booked our little one in for ski lessons in HInterthal and he loved it, the instructors were really fun and nice and we could ski next to him, out of sight. We would highly recommend this place and hope to stay next feb if possible. Thank you very much Sue.
“Lovely apartment in stunning area with lots to do.”
My husband and I had always wanted to visit Austria in the summer and this trip lived up to our expectations and more. The apartment is situated a short stroll along the riverbank into the beautiful traditional Austrian village of Maria Alm. Right from the start the owner Sue communicated everything we needed to know providing us with helpful tips on all the wonderful things to see and do. The apartment is lovely and very well set up for visitors: comfy beds and duvets, well equipped kitchen, TV, iPod Dock, DVDs etc. and plenty of maps and information leaflets. The sofa bed in the lounge is huge and our tall son and daughter-in-law who joined us for a short time said they had the best sleep! The village has stunning views, great restaurants (the Bachwirt is very friendly and the Bauer cafe does great coffee, cakes, bread and free wifi) and several good shops selling traditional goods as well as ski/hiking wear. The Tuesday evening village entertainment was fantastic: traditional music, dance and merriment followed by schnapps! We hired bikes and cycled to Saalfenden spending a lovely day at the lake in hot sunshine with the backdrop of the mountains. At nearby Almdorf we found a roadside stall selling traditional liqueurs, soaps, balms and wooden goods. My husband left his wallet there and cycled back an hour later to find the owner working in the field with the wallet safely held for him - typical of the warmth of the area. We boated on the large lake at Zell Am See and caught the weekly light show - good for shopping too. We took cable cars, hiked for miles (to offset the cakes) and enjoyed the views with the sound of the cowbells in the background. Saw Trieffen falls and found pretty Dienten. Now we just have to return to see it in winter and take advantage of all the local ski runs. Our thanks to Sue who made the whole trip extra special with her friendly attention to detail and kindness. We'll be back!
Very well sorted attractive apartment in convenient location on the outskirts of pretty village Second (bunk) bedroom is through main bedroom so best suited to families/ a couple. Directly opposite the Hinterreit ski lifts used for expert race training (slope open to all, but ideal for anyone aspring to selection for Pyeongchang in 2018). Ski bus stops nearby but best with a car - The main ski area at Aberg, and Natrun, are minutes away, A good supermarket is less. Leogang, links to Saalbach/Hinterglemm, just 20 minutes (same Salzburgerland lift pass) and a recommended pizzeria in Saalfelden main square, 5 minutes Despite less than usual snow this season and foehn winds, the pistes were in amazing condition even down to the lowest points of Aberg and Muhlbach.
This is a really fantastic apartment. It has everything that you need in a great location just a short walk from the town centre and close to the new supermarket. Being on the top floor it is very quiet with fantastic views and the owner couldn't do enough to make sure our stay comfortable. Everything was well organised, information generous and value simply unbeatable. Maria Alm itself has excellent skiing and if you buy the Salzburg Ski pass then you have a vast area to ski. a minute minute drive to Leogang gives you that area plus Saalbach and Hinterglem and you are a 45 minute drive away from skiing Kitzbuhel, 20 minutes from Zell, 30 from Kaprun and 50 from Gastein and many more. If you want value there is no better and area and no better an apartment.
“Home from home in a beautiful setting.”
The apartment was extremely comfortable, clean and well-equipped. Balcony gave fantastic view of hills and village. Maria Alm is a vibrant village a short scenic walk away with all amenities for shopping, eating out etc. Open-air swimming pool in village fantastic for the family. A car was recommended but as hikers we managed perfectly well without and did walks into the hills to find breathtaking scenery. Bus stop outside apartment offers good service to neighbouring villages, Saalfelden and onward connections to Zell am See and the Biberg toboggan run ( a must for the family) . All-in-all a very enjoyable holiday for all of us.
“A great apartment in a wonderful location”
The apartment was very comfortable, with everything you could want. The washing machine came in very useful, as did the English DVD's already there. The view from the apartment balcony is stunning. All the information provided about the area was brilliant. The village is very close by, with an outdoor pool that the kids loved, especially since it was scorching hot most of the time. There are lots of other things to do in the area for kids too like the summer tobagon run, the ropes course and the light & water show at Zell an See. We went on lots of ski lifts & gondolas as part of walks, and even went to the top of a glacier and went sledging in snow! A brilliant holiday had by all!!

Stayed here mid march on a first time ski holiday. The apartment is really spacious and very homely with everything you will need for your stay in Austria. The photos on the website don't do it justice - it's really pretty with all mod cons. It's the perfect place to come back to after a day on the slopes. The Aberg ski area is a 5 min drive away which is perfect for all ski levels (myself a beginner). I spent the week practising on the blue runs and thoroughly enjoyed it - the lessons are also very good. Theres so many slope options to choose from and Maria alm itself is the prettiest little village with a few good bars and restaurants. All in all a fantastic ski holiday and I'd hope to go back some day.
“A little gem dont miss it”
Haus frederick lies just 5 minute walk from the village of Maria Alm along the river bank. As such you can join in in the village life then return to the piece and quiet of your apartment. Being at the top means nobody above you to cause noise. Lift access means it is for the young as well as the O.A.P. Sleeping up to 6 in two double beds and pair of bunks, I used a bunk and had good nights sleep, it caters for family holidays or skiing trips or the couple just wanting to chill out For skiing there are at least 4 slopes that can be seen from the house and the road through the valley allows all the local must see spots to be easily accessed in the summer months. With separate bathroom and kitchen it provides great accommodation for all uses. Car parking in front is plentiful and safe as its of road. For the golfers the nearest is just around the corner 10 mins away. Why not combine it with a few days in Vienna just 3 hour drive away along good motorway roads from Vienna airport we did. If you don't want to miss out on this newly advertised apartment then I would suggest you book now as it going to get easily booked up as it offers what we all want from a holiday.
