Historic Mansion with all modern updates and a fabulous location!

6 bedroom, 5 bath house built in 1882 in a folk Italianate style with 12 foot ceilings, 10 foot tall windows, original crystal chandeliers and hardwood floors with 6000 square feet of living space. In addition, the home has a 1000 square foot mahogany deck with multiple seating areas and a hot tub for 7. Located 5 miles from Churchill Downs and 1 mile to downtown in the Cherokee Triangle; a national preservation district. Great location within walking distance of fine restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, galleries and the city's premier park--Cherokee Park (400 acre Olmstead designed park).

Smoking is permitted only on the two porches (1rst and 2nd floor) and in the back yard. Less than one block from Jack Fry's (site of the trainer's dinner). Dozens of other restaurants, clubs, shops and cafes within a few blocks. Home has been featured on Kentucky Architect's tour, historic homes tour, local newspaper and regional magazines.

Huge open kitchen with luxury appliances, copper and marble countertops, stained concrete floors and antique tile. Four full baths and one half bath, all recently remodeled. High speed wifi throughout house.

Second floor 1000 square foot entertainment zone/family room. This room also has 70" flat screen TV (with DVD player and DVD library as well as dish service with over 100 channels and NetFlix).

Guest amenities include fluffy bathrobes, individual soaps, shampoos, lotions, and locally roasted whole bean coffee. All beds are dressed in 400 thread count cotton sheets with two feather/down and two down alternative pillows per bed. Kitchen is equipped with a full assortment of cooking utensils, place settings for 12, glassware for 18.

Bedroom 1: Gorgeous 3rd floor master suite with open bath (walk in shower, jetted tub), 42" LCD TV, king bed, exposed brick, curved walls, over 900 square feet of luxury.

Den: With queen sofa sleeper could accommodate 2 more. Den has pocket doors for privacy.

Closest Great Casual Restaurant: Ramsi's Cafe on the World located less than 3 blocks away, this restaurant offers an eclectic menu influenced by cuisines around the world in a casual setting. Great outdoor patio seating or two indoor dining rooms. Full bar, affordable wine list and an occasional belly dancer.

Nearest Attractions: Cave Hill National Arboretum and Cemetery, main entrance less than a block from the front door. Cherokee Park (400 acre urban landmark designed by Frederick Law Olmstead), 3 blocks from home. Brown Theater 1.2 mi. Churchill Downs, 4.5 mi. Airport , 6 mi.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send LouLux (the owner) a message.

If LouLux (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
