The central high street has small, narrow roads branching off it, taking you to the many boutiques, shops, bars and restaurants until you can go no further as you have reached the main square and the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The coastline of La Cala offers both long stretches of clean, sandy beaches, where you can take a leisurely stroll west on the boardwalk all the way to Riviera del Sol, and interesting craggy parts to the east to explore and watch the many kite surfing enthusiasts filling the sky with the colourful canopies.
By day, La Cala bustles with tourists and locals alike and is always a hive of activity of people going about their daily business or heading to the beach for a lunch with a view at one of the beach restaurants. Beachside La Cala offers a large childrens play area and the main square where all the fiestas and outdoor summer festivities are held and is dominated by the 16th Century watch tower “El Torreon”.
