The Old Dressmakers Cottage, dating back to 1874, is located on Market Street, a quiet residential street. Charming two bedroom house located just around the corner from the all the shops, pubs, restaurants etc. that Kenmare has to offer. The house has central heating throughout but also boasts an open fire in the sitting-room and a stove in the kitchen, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind in your "home away from home". We also provide some solid fuels to get you started.

Kenmare is a great town and good jumping off point for exploring the southwest of Ireland. Kathleen's cottage was right in town, but on a quiet street. Clean and comfortable. Always nice to patronize a local rather than a hotel chain.

Great location in a quiet street but a very short walk to Kenmare centre shops bars and restaurants. The cottage is very comfortable and all the basics are provided.We were there during the heatwave and it was lovely and cool indoors.There was even a fan if needed. A very friendly town with plenty to do surrounded by beautiful scenery. Had a great holiday staying in Kathleen's lovely cottage.

I wrote to reserve the Old Dressmaker's Cottage but unfortuately it had just been booked so while I did not get to stay, Kathleen went out of her way, completely out of her way to help me find another cottage to stay in literally right across the street. The cottage was absolutely perfect in all ways - a fire ready in the fireplace, two cozy bedrooms, warm hosts, incredible location on market street ... my trip could not have been any better and so while I was not able to stay at the Old Dressmaker's Cottage I have so many thanks and appreciation for the host there.

Everything about this house was just perfect: the location (in the middle of everything, but still quiet) and size (2 bedrooms, 2 baths) was just as advertised , and still very cozy. We didn't cook much, but the kitchen was nice-sized and fully equipped, and the living room was just large enough with very comfy furniture to relax in after a long day of touring. Both rooms also have great wood-burning stoves. We did not get to meet Kathleen, but Steve met us at the house (and he even saved a parking spot for us!) and gave us a great tour of he house as well as something good info on local pubs, etc. In summary, we can't recommend this property well enough!

The old dressmakers cottage is a sheer delight. It is very pretty, spacious and comfortable. On arrival the owner met us at the door with a up of tea and she had lit a peat fire made us feel very welcome and at home.The cottage we found to be very well furnished and extremely well equiped. The position of the cottage is right in the heart of Kenmare easy walking for shops, pubs and restaurants quite important as we are both late 70's and yet it was lovely and quiet.

First, the home is gorgeous and well-equipped. Nice bathrooms (great hot showers!), kitchen and laundry machine. Kathleen welcomed me with a fire burning in the living room - she is a wonderful and kind person. The home is within walking distance to the main two streets in Kenmare. From this location we drove to the Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry and Beara Peninsula. It was a piece of cake! I highly suggest this property to anyone staying in Kenmare!!

As a regular visitor to the Kenmare area for the past 20+ years I have to admit I hadn't come across The Old Dressmaker's Cottage before, but wish I had! Very comfortable, very reasonably priced and well equipped, the cottage was ideal for myself, my 11-year-old daughter and one of her schoolfriends, for a half term break. A two minute walk from the shops, pubs and restaurants yet located in a quiet residential street, everything we needed was on hand. The owners could not have been more welcoming and did not seem bothered by our weather-induced late arrival and then helped me out when my car broke down - so a very public thank-you is deserved! Highly recommended.

How do damage deposits work?
