- Very Good
“Easy to get to, but very hard to leave.”
Without a doubt the Arc-en-ciel chalet is the best we have stayed in to date. Amongst its best features are the panoramic view from the sitting room, the open fire and the comfortable underfloor heating. Other features we enjoyed, after a hard days skiing, were the large walk-in showers, the comfy beds and bath tub and the extensive film library. We found the chalet to be exceptionally clean, tastefully and practically furnished and very well-equipped with all necessities and more. We felt immediately at home and thanks to the Arc-en-ciel chalet spent a very memorable week in Haute Nendaz.
“Superb chalet, wonderful location, highly recommend.”
We stayed at this chalet over Christmas and found it had everything that could be required. Massive sitting room/dining room/kitchen on middle floor with large balcony and outdoor table. Stunning views across the valley. The bedrooms are a great size and spread between upstairs and downstairs. Shower and bath facilities excellent. It is self catering and had a fully equipped kitchen. Check in and out went smoothly. Fantastic area for skiing. Can access slopes with short walk up above chalet and is possible to ski in for expert skiers or short walk/cross country back up road.
“fantastic summer holiday in arc en ciel”
We have just returned from our weeks stay in arc en ciel with our 2 children 1 and nearly 4 year old. We knew it was a great location in winter for skiing but we didn't know that there would be so much for children to do in the summer. There was a daily program of activities for different ages in nendez including football, archery, cookery classes as well as a play area, bouncy castle and trampolines. We drove from uk via Eurotunnel and so had our own car to get around it and explore the area and did some great mountain walks. We would definitely return in winter for skiing.
“The place to stay for an amazing holiday!!”
Arc-en-ciel is the most beautiful chalet i have ever stayed in. It has a really homely feel to it but at the same time caters to all your needs. My family and friends (including children!) were so impressed with the content, standard and general amazingness of this place! The sofas and beds are very comfy, the wifi and dvd player were put to use very well! and the views are simply incredible. There is a small garden at the front of the chalet which has seen many games of football, tag or just basking in the sun! Whats more, you can ski right to the door! I would recommend this chalet to anyone whether with kids, an adult expedition or a family treat. Arc-en-ciel will be an experience you'll never forget.
“Wow - what a view!”
We would thoroughly recommend this as an ideal place to stay in the mountains. My wife, 1 year old daughter and I stayed at Arc-en-Ciel for a skiing holiday with a group of friends and their families and had a fantastic time. It is the perfect chalet for groups of friends or big families. It was always cosy and warm and had a great real log fire place too. It has plenty of space in the living area with a lovely big dining table with room for all, perfect for our group to eat, drink and socialise after a day on the slopes. The kitchen is very well equipped and we made full use of this, taking turns to cook every night. The extensive TV and video library had something for everyone as well as the games and books provided by the owners. The accommodation was fantastic including comfortable beds and good bathrooms. The 1st and 2nd floors provide the balconies with the most amazing panoramic views of the mountains opposite and the valley below. It really felt like a 360 degree view of the Alps! The slopes are within walking distance and then you can ski to the main lift in Nendaz from where you can explore the 4 vallees. It took a few attempts to negotiate the ski-in route back to the chalet from the piste but this only made it more fun! There was a good room for storing all the ski-equipment each night so it was ready for action the next day. The area around the chalet is great for the kids to sledge down and play in. The village is close by for a night out on the town and the supermarkets are easily accessible by car to stock up on essentials. There are also bars and restaurants within walking distance but we tended to stay in the chalet during the evening, playing cards, watching films and drinking wine once the kids were in bed! The property can be a little challenging to find initially (especially in the dark) but this is only because of its position to give it the amazing views, and they are worth it! A 4x4 is definitely recommended during the ski season.
“Lovely Chalet, Beautiful Views”
We stayed for a week in March with a group of friends. The chalet is a up a small road past the Tracouet lift station. If it is snowing or there is a lot of snow on the ground it is advisable to use chains or have a four wheel drive. The chalet has a large living area with floor to ceiling views out across the Sion valley. Quite stunning views of the mountains on the other side. There is a wrap around balcony to enjoy the view from outside as well. All the bedrooms are large and airy with adequate storage for a weeks skiing gear. The entrance area on the ground floor has a very handy boot & ski storage area. A fantastic place to stay to enjoy the huge range of skiing available in the 4 Valleys area. I would recommend Bar Bob on the Alpage piste for a Apres Ski drink before the short ski back to the chalet.
“Comfie chalet with amazing views”
Stayed here for a week on a skiing trip with friends. The setting of the chalet is wonderful - at the top of a hill giving a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and right down into the valley. There are bedrooms and a bathroom' plus a separate toilet on the ground floor and then it's upstairs to the main living area (and further bedrooms/bathroom up another flight). It's all very well decorated, with comfie sofas, a massive dining table. And then there is the wrap around terrace/balcony out the front and round the side to catch the sun. I am booked to go again next year and was supposed to go thus year but had to pull out at the last minute due to medical reasons. Big telly plus WiFi. It's a fab place to go with a group of friends - highly recommend it.
