Very Good

“Quaint cottage, ideally situated to view Rome and surrounding area.”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2014

Three of us recently spent a very pleasant week in this lovely cottage. It was ideally situated to reach Rome which took about 20 minutes on the metro. We also hired a car and viewed some of the surrounding countryside including the lakes and the gardens and villa in Tivoli. Alessandro was charming and helpful and recommended a couple of good restaurants. He also kept the house really clean and topped up the cakes regularly.

Owner's reply: Hi!! Thank you very much Sue. All the best, Alessandro

“Amazing Location, Charming Host & an Adorable Cat called Bejou!”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

We are an Australian Couple with two boysaged 10 and 12 . Ask them and they will tell you our cottage in Italy was the best part of our 4 week trip to the Uk and Europe. Nestled in the mountains this cottage is part of a large Estate. Allesandro, our host and owner, lives on site in the main Villa and cleaned our room daily. The cottage was immacuatly clean and a credit to Allesandro. He also offered lifts to and from the Metro Station as part of his service. This was unexpected and much appreciated. The gardens are huge and the views of the setting sun are memorable. There is a Soccer (Football) Goal, Swings and a llittle play house to keep the kids entertained. The town of Grotoferrata is traditional and beautiful. It is a 10 minute walk along a beautiful (but very busy) tree lined road. Walk along the main road and Turn in Via Roma. This wiil take you a well stocked supermarket. Keep following the road and you will end up in the town centre. The are numerous restaurants and pizza shops. We cannot speak a word of Italian but we were able order what we needed (with a little sign language). As it is not a tourist hot spot we found he locals to be only too willing to help us by recommending local dishes and were interested in where we were from. The prices in Grottoferrata are exceptinally cheap, especially when compared to Rome. Over all the cottage was like a traditional rural stay in the hills with Rome only 25 minutes away on the Metro. A day pass on the Metro is only $6 Euros. Kids under 10 are free. Lastly, there in Bejou, the little black Itallian Cat. He provided endless entertainmentbfor the kids. he's a real charmer wit a lot to say. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from it all in a tranquil setting. Well done Allesandro-you should be very proud of your little cottage. All the best with it. Nicole, Stewart, Ty & Brooklyn

Owner's reply: Hi !!! Your words make me so happy, i'm glad you like the stay. Your smiles, your education and sympathy I will not forget. During the lifts I had so much fun talking to you. Bijoux too has never felt so appreciated. Hopeful to see you again...a big hug to everyone. Thank you, Alessandro & Bijoux
