A perfect location for a great active holiday or a week or two spent whiling the time away!

As you would expect of a Manor house – the Manoir enjoys the privacy of its own private 11 x 5 m heated pool, surrounded by terraces and beautiful landscaped gardens.

Fabulous exposed stone exterior compliments the classical symmetry of this very special holiday home.
The interior has been stylishly renovated to expose its fabulous stonework and has high ceilings, tall doors and windows and grand entrance hall.

The dining room and kitchen are side by side, making dining together a breeze. The dining room has a fabulous monumental log burning stove – perfect for those chillier spring or autumn evenings.

Through to the classically 'French' kitchen, which is large with a central table for relaxed breakfasts, easy dining or just to take time to chat over a cup of great French coffee.

To the right of the staircase is the second wing – here you will find three further stylish bedrooms. The bedrooms are set out as one twin, one double and one with a fabulous king size four poster bed – these pretty bedrooms share a large fitted shower room.

The bedrooms are all large & airy. The large windows create lovely bright rooms - enjoy relaxing in bed with the gentle breeze drifting in to gently wake you!

Location description from owner

The Aquitaine region

Situated in the heart of the Aquitaine region Seguinet is on the borders of the rivers Lot, Garonne and Dordogne. It is just off D710 (so easy to get to), yet feels totally secluded and private. This area is famous for its wine and local vinyards all offer a taste.

It is 30 miles from Bergerac airport and takes about an hour to reach Seguinet. Seguinet is two hours from Bordeaux airport and an hour and 45 min approximately from Toulouse airport. Limoges airport is about 3 hours away. Hire cars can be booked in advance. It is necessary to have a car here in order to fully enjoy what the region has to offer:

This area of France is a haven for a fantastic holiday.

Fumel

Seguinet is a 10 min drive from Fumel where there are many large supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Numerous famous bastide towns and chateaux are nearby and well worth a visit. Belves, Monflanquin, Monpazier, Villefranche-du-Perigod, Issigeac and Chateau de Biron to mention just a few. The beautiful town of Sarlat is only a 45 min drive away.

Our ancient region of Aquitaine is steeped in history with many churches and castles to visit. Some of these places hold re-enactments and music shows during the summer. Medieval castles are major tourist attractions at Duras, Bonaguil, Biron and Monbazillac. Romanesque churches are another feature of the region and there isa fine abbey at Cadouin, with a good restaurant, pottery and market hall next to it.

The region of the Lot et Garonne is one of the most beautiful in south west France. The River Lot flows through a stunning landscape from Cahors and Figeac in the East across to Bordeaux in the West, hillsides, valleys and stunning countryside offering one of the largest orchards in Europe with its varied fruit and wines that benefit from the mild climate.

Situated further south than the more well-known region Dordogne, the Lot offers a more peaceful setting for relaxed holidays away from the crowds, even in the summer season. The popular wine-growing areas of Bordeaux, Bergerac and Monbazillac are within easy reach where many of the vineyards are open for visits and tastings.

There are different local markets to visit every day of the week where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables and local delicacies such as Foie gras, cured sausages and cheeses. In the summer there is also a weekly 'producers markets' and night markets at Duras, Eymet Villereal, Monflanquin, to name a few. Here you can sit outside and join the locals feasting on a variety of dishes and wines bought direct from the producers. Libos has a market every Thursday morning.

There is a strong gastronomic tradition in this area, eating out is part of the French way of life. Lunch time is the best value with three course lunch menu from around 12 euros including wine. Haute cuisine for gourmets, is also available and can be found locally, including the 1 Michelin star restaurant in Pujols (40 mins). There are a couple of great restaurants in Gavaudun. Just 10 min drive away you can sit in one of the two restaurants at the foot of the stunning Chateau de Bonaguil.

“Holiday of a lifetime”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2015

We booked the main house and the coach house with a group of 16 for a special occasion through ownersdirect.com, some of us flew to Bergerac and some to Bordeaux. The short hours drive from berjarac was beautiful, extremely picturesque. We arrived greeted by the very friendly owners Tas and Martyn and were supplied with complimentary bottles of wine in the fridges on arrival. I was expecting the beautiful photos of this property that enticed us to book to be somewhat photoshopped and that surely no place can be as stunning as these pics but when I arrived it literally took my breath away. We all spent a good first hour just wandering around the house and the grounds just soaking it all in! The mansion has clearly been a labour of love for the owners, who's attention to detail with the decor is exquisite, every room, every fixture, every item of furniture.... It's clear there's been no expense spared inside and out. The exterior is just as impressive with extensive grounds, beautiful marquee area and BBQ pergola, and the superb pool... Which was immaculately maintained for us. The gardens and lake are just the icing on the cake, during our stay the flowers were in full bloom and the lake well stocked with carp and trout so the men of the group enjoyed many an hour fishing with rods provided. Tips: the owners and possibly past guests have plenty of extras for the stay that you feel you have to bring such as spare sheets, spare towels and pool equipment for children/floating devices etc which are kept in the pool house. We encountered a few hiccups that you would expect given the age of the property eg. Electrical/drainage however the owners were on hand immediately to resolve with minimum fuss and disturbance The location is very beautiful and we did take a few trips out in the car to nearby towns such as monpazier where we experienced one of their night markets (highly recommended) and also to visit some of the picturesque chateaus. There is a supermarket 15 min drive which we used to stock up a few times during the week and a local shop open a few hours a day where we were able to order pastries for collection each morning. I cannot recommend this as a holiday destination enough we have all had the holiday of a lifetime, ages from toddler, teen, and all aged adults there was something for everyone. The younger children spent the week in the pool, the teens stayed in the self contained coach house with its own plunge pool, whilst us adults chilled on the terrace under the marque enjoying the local wine in the evening. As a family we also enjoyed the ping pong table in the courtyard! Please be assured that it really is as good as it looks! Thanks you Tas and Martyn for a holiday we will never forget.

“lovely house, but lacked a few essentials”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2014

lovely spacious house, but lacked a few essentials. No cushions for the sun loungers. very cold at night, so had to ask for heaters, which were not readily available. fireplaces but no wood. pool very cold. perhaps a bit remote,so had to travel fair way to any sites of interest.

Thank you for your review. We did take these comments on board at the time of your departure and have for example added cushions on all sun loungers by the pool. The pool temperature is maintained at 28 deg C. There are always a lot of cut logs outside the house for our guests should they wish to have a log fire. Seguinet is a beautiful location and our aim is for our guests to enjoy it. We take on board all the comments.

“A Fantastic place for a group”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2014

Le Seguinet is a high quality beautifully proportioned property in a wonderful and historic part of France. It is easily reachable from Bergerac airport and convenient for trips to the Dordogne and Lot valleys. The quality of the furnishings and size of the rooms were first class. We travelled as a a group of friends with grown up children ( 24 of us in total) We had the entire place to ourselves and had a throughly enjoyable time. The owners were on hand to help when necessary ( even arranging for a local chef to come and cook one evening for us all !) . All of the children to a one are already asking when we can go back !

Thank you for your review, we are glad you had a great time here at Seguinet and it was lovely to have you all around. Hope to see you back at Seguinet soon!

“Beautiful location which made a wonderful family holiday”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2014

Would highly recommend la Seguinet. We all had a wonderful time, adults and children alike. The children regularly ask 'when will we be returning to the house with the pool?' Beautiful location with lots to see and do.

Thank you so much. It was a pleasure having you and your family at seguinet. I look forward to seeing you back.
