Peyia is situated around 16km north of Paphos and is a typical Cypriot village that still holds strongly onto its traditional values. It is very popular with tourists from all over the world, and is home to one of the largest communities of British expats in Cyprus. In the centre of the village you will find signs of Cyprus from years gone by, with old stone houses adorned with flowers, and locals chatting and sipping Cypriot coffee outside little coffee shops. You will receive a warm welcome in the many bars and restaurants in the village. The very popular Grande Café, just off the main street, has a menu that will suit all palates. Also try Savvas Grill for a traditional Cypriot meze, but make sure you are hungry as the food just keeps coming! You will find most shops in the village, including bakeries, butchers, supermarkets, banks, hairdressers, nail bar, and local bars in which to stop for a quick (or leisurely) drink.
