Our beautiful rural farmhouse has been reformed and offers you a wonderful break in one of the most peaceful and unique areas in Andalucia next to the lake “Embalse de Guadalhorce” only 45 mins. from Málaga airport. Here you can enjoy the silence or challenge your body in the amazing surroundings. A true paradise for people who enjoy active life.
El Arpa offers holiday apartments for 2 persons in a green area on a 50.000 sqm plot going down to the lake. Here you can enjoy life no matter if you choose to relax in the beautiful surroundings under the southern sun enjoying the peace - or if you prefer to use one of the many activity options that nature offers you and which is just outside the doors of the holiday apartments.

We very much enjoyed our stay at el arpa. We had a downstairs apartment, which was small, but was very nicely laid out and had everything we needed. The location is fabulous with lots of great hiking, climbing and wildlife. Micheal kept a good balance between being friendly and helpful while also respecting our privacy. We would definitely stay there again.

“Fijn appartement in een heel mooie omgeving”
Heerlijke plek om een weekje te verblijven. Klein appartement, maar wel erg mooi en met alle voorzieningen aanwezig. Wanneer je (door slecht weer) veel binnen zit, mis je wel een fijne zithoek. Een van de grotere appartementen is dan aan te raden. Ligging is ook prima, met de auto zijn dagtrips naar de verschillende grote steden in de omgeving prima te doen.
“Great place, big beautiful views and very nice owners.”
With just six apartments, this was a relatively quiet place, so we could relax here. There is a beautiful view over the nearby mountains and the lake, where you could swim. It is close to several villages, wide landscapes and an enormous gorge, which is a must see during your stay. The owners of the finca are very nice an are willing to help out and give advice on what to see in the surrounding area. The apartment itself is decorated simple but very nice and the garden is well kept and compliments the building. The only thing that some people might have a problem with is that the phone and wifi connection wasn't to good, but i don't know if they have improved this since our stay. We would really want to go back there some day.

We have stayed at El Arpa before and it gets better every time we come. The accommodation is comfortable and the views are terrific. It is an easy 45 minute drive from north west of Malaga. The walking is good, from easy to challenging . Wildlife abounds from birds, hoopoe, bee-eater,,sardinian warbler, etc., turtles on lake, wild goats, foxes, and many other species. Rikke and Michael , the hosts will help in any they can and have detailed information on the area. El Arpa is a lovely peaceful retreat!
We zijn een week in El Arpa geweest. Op voorhand hadden we wel bedenkingen voor de hitte, maar dat viel reuze mee. Er stond steeds een zwak briesje. Het was er erg rustig. We hadden gekozen voor een studio op het gelijkvloers omdat er een bescherming tegen de zon was, maar als we nog eens teruggaan, kiezen we zerk voor een verblijf op het eerste verdiep. Er is een parasol, en je hebt een mooier uitzicht. We hebben genoten van de stilte, van de vriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid van de gastvrouw en -heer. Alles was aanwezig, zelfs een klein winkeltje waar je in vertrouwen spullen kon nemen, en opschrijven in een boek. Bij vertrek werd er afgerekend. We kunnen alleen maar zeggen, een aanrader!!!!
The property is in a great location. We were disappointed as the lower flat was much smaller than expected and we could her every step and furniture movement from the flat above. The heating provided was insufficient for the property. Nice people but not a good experience for us.
Owner's reply: The downstairs apartments ARE very small - that should be clear from the property description, so no need to be disappointed or surprised about that. If you want more space and plan to spend time here at El Arpa we recommend a 1st floor apartment.

Very kind, helpful owners. Nice, clean appartment Andalusia is very suitable for all kinds of daytrips The view from the appartments is very wonderful and the lake is very beautiful. You can go for a very nice walk direct behind the appartment but you can also vist very nice villages.
“Rustic environment, eco-friendly.”
Nice property, very rustic and quiet. Very eco-friendly. However very hard to find (on a back road). We used it as a base to visit cities like Malaga, Granada and Cordoba, but in retrospect we would have been better suited with a hotel somewhere in one of those cities. This place is more for nature lovers or people who want a quiet place, than for city trips.
“Peaceful, clean and friendly.”
The accomodation had all we needed for our stay and was very peaceful. We loved the donkeys and the tame sheep. It was a great spot to access climbing and cycling locally, plus a range of local markets to visit!
