Description

Newly renovated in 2019, The Hazels is a beautiful modern home offering spacious accommodation with a unique 'upside down layout'. The house sleeps up to 12 in five bedrooms, making it great for families or groups of friends.

The house is in a peaceful rural location with extensive views of the surrounding hills and Spey valley. The location is ideal for walkers who can warm up by log fire after a day's exploring.

The space

The house has an unusual upside down layout, which provides spectacular views from the upstairs living room and kitchen, as well as maximising light and warmth, and keeping the bedrooms cool in the summer.

Upstairs

Large and bright open plan kitchen and dining room. The kitchen has a new oven and hob fitted in 2018, a dishwasher, a large free standing fridge, freezer, microwave and toaster. The dining table comfortably seats ten but can squeeze up to 12. The kitchen also has a digital radio with bluetooth connectivity and is well equipped with pans, dishes and cooking utensils.

The kitchen leads out to a back garden.

In the living room, the comfortable three piece suite seats up to 8, and can be supplemented with a rocking chair, beanbag and pouffe to provide cosy seating for up to 12 in front of the log fire. There is a Smart TV & DVD player, as well as a wide selection of DVDs, books and games.

Double doors from the living room lead out onto the roof terrace, with a hanging egg chair and large dining table. There is an additional TV room upstairs with a sofa bed which can sleep two, and a bathroom with a shower, WC and sink.

Downstairs

The Master Bedroom has a kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower. There are two additional double bedrooms, and one nautical themed bunk room, with two single beds and one set of bunk beds, which are suitable for adults and children.

All bedrooms are equipped with hanging space, shelves, mirrors, bedside tables and reading lights. There are sockets next to every bed. Towels and linens are provided. All bedding is hypo-allergenic and blankets are provided in every room. There is a third bathroom downstairs with a shower, WC and sink.

We recommend you bring a car to The Hazels as the public transport is limited. There is a bus stop near the house but services are infrequent. There is parking available for three cars.

“Clean, welcoming, comfortable, well equipped, wonderfully situated with perfect showers.”

I loved the entrance hall where there was sufficient room for all our boots, shoes, coats and outdoor gear. The whole house was roomy and comfortable, beds even more so, We are walkers and we found no real need to drive all week as there are plenty of walks in and around Cromdale. It was also easy to launch our cayaks in the river at Cromdale. The people there were also very friendly and we had several very interesting conversations and some of us went to their whist evening. Our last morning, we dropped into their local cafe for breakfast and they even fed my dog! We enjoyed the views from the house and everything was about perfect. A wonderful weeks holiday.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
