Location description from owner

The South Wales region

Outstanding views over pasture land incorporating the Usk Valley. Close to a number of golf courses. Great for ramblers, hikers and cyclists. Short easy drive to local amenities, Cardiff is less than 30 minutes by car. Big Pit , Sugar Loaf mountain and Breacon Beacons are all close to hand. For history lovers a visit to Caerleon is a must with it's baths and roman ruins lying within the town. The local historical town of Usk has it's own castle with Raglan castle only seven miles away. Visit Tintern Abbey and the border town of Chepstow.

Coed-Y-Paen

The village of Coed-y-Paen doesn't have any shops but it does have a great pub and sitting proudly outside the ancient church is our library contained in the red phone box! There are three local golf courses to enjoy and the reservoir is within walking distance. Boating and fishing is available as well as wonderful walking. Day fishing licences can be bought in the local shops in Usk for fly fishing as the river is famous for it's salmon. If you fancy trying clay pigeon shooting, we have the facilities within our grounds with all the equipment required. One on one instruction is given by Mike who is an experienced competition clay pigeon shooter and instructor.
Dogs are welcome with prior arrangement.

“a rural, quiet cottage with lovely views of the surrounding area.”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

The cottage was warm, friendly, well equiped and large enough for the three of us. The staircase is a bit dangerous as the steps are so small you can't put your whole foot on it. It gave me some trouble getting to my bedroom. We loved the chicken in the garden, build a little fire in the barbecue on the terras and overall had lots of fun. The owners are super nice, they helped with all our questions and let us use their computer when we couldn't get on the internet. A place to come back to.

It was great meeting all three of you, we would love to see you again when back in the U.K. Kind regards Janet and Mike

“All you could wish for in a cottage stay”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2016

This cottage is amazing and has everything you could want from a stay in Monmouthshire whether you want to relax or do plenty of walking. The hot tub provides amazing views for relaxing in at the end of the day, there's a BBQ for sitting out in the gorgeous garden and enjoying dinner in the wonderful surrounds. Finally a log burning stove for cozy nights in. The owners are so helpful and can provide you with a wealth of information about the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend to others. Mark, Stephen and Milo.

Thank you Mark, we are so pleased you, Stephen and Milo enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you in the future.
