Very Good

Terrific location, within easy walking distance of the town and bus station but far enough away that it's calm and quiet. Lovely chalet with plenty of space and a stunning view of Mont Blanc!

“Lovely Chalet, Great location, Unbelievable view”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2017

Had a really nice stay here in August 2017. Nice big clean spacious chalet, well fitted out, comfy beds and a spectacular view of the mountains and a glaciers from the balcony. It had a big secure garage for our bikes which was great, and it's a quick 5 minute walk from the town centre which is really convenient. Definitely be coming back..

“Nothing ruined our trip, but these things might make others get fed up and leave bad reviews”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2017

I have never written a review before, but we decided it might be helpful for the owner Esme. Esme was helpful from start to finish. We had a totally fabulous week in chamonix, I hugely recommend, there is so much to do I would definitely come back. However the chalet is very tired, and many things broken. Light switches rarely work first time. The toilet was broken when we arrived (we didn't mind just sued the other one) however it was fixed by a 'plumber' and my dad (a builder) seems to think there was no way it needed new stuff, but only tightening. ALL woodwork needs repainting/treating/repairing, both my children (under 4) and my myself got splinters from standing on balcony in bare feet, not what you should expect for such a large amount of money! We had to buy dishwasher tablets, washing powder, toilet roll and kitchen roll, all of which we felt should be included. The toaster was broken, so we had to use the one from the studio, meaning my sister could not longer make her own breakfast down there. The front door lock is split/out of line, making it tricky to lock/close without worsening it. Everyone slept poorly, only two pillows in master bedroom? That we're basically air. The studio was a sofa bed with a mattress on that didn't fit. The photos need updating as there are no longer those comfy looking chair things. A welcome pack is usually provided when booking with holiday lettings and often a little arrival snack left out, none of this. Many areas were dusty, bathrooms clean, yet tops of mirrors layers of dust. Attention to detail clearly lost. The view from the chalet is epceptional, and the size of the property is lovely. However everything is worn out which really lets the property down and doesn't make you feel the owner has bothered to maintain it or show little thoughtful ideas. Therefore not value for money at all. None of these things stopped us having a brilliant holiday. Just feel these things should be looked at so not to disappoint others xx

“This is not Luxury”

Reviewed 27 Nov 2016

Honestly, I am not really sure what everyone is going on about with this so called "Luxury Chalet". Though I admit, it's all about expectations. If it would have been called something like 'Skier's Lodge', 'Traveller's In' etc, I probably would have been thrilled as the place definitely has its advantages. However it was not called that... The whole place has a kind of tired and run down feeling to it. The pics were obviously taken years ago, when it was newly renovated or something. It's very plain with many frustrating details, like for ex the shower, were the crackling paint in the ceiling fell in a white powder on the floor every day & the water came in either spiky sprinkles all over, or alternatively (if you twist the shower head), more in the shape of a fat worm crawling so close to the wall that you couldn't stand under it without hitting the tap. The second bathroom (a grey, dreary space with even less luxury feeling, none actually), had the smallest bathtub ever spotted, with very bad drainage. The large side facing window in the kitchen didn't have any curtain (just broken holders; ugly!), & when the sun shone it got baking hot in there, one of the burners on the stove didn't work & sometimes two were out of order. The bench top in kitchen, & bathroom woodwork, were very bleached with endless spots & the lounge chairs on the balcony must not ever have been meant to relax in. They were impossible to to use unless sitting with your spine ram rod straight (Not very relaxing). The bedroom facing the mountain had extremely loud & noisy heaters. I had to sleep with my ear plugs the entire vacation. The layout of the sitting room was very strange, like an L, where you either stare into the wall or out the far window whilst the TV is to the side. The furniture is well worn & some of the lamps didn't work, (we went out & bought light bulbs ourselves). Everything just felt neglected. I could go on, but it would be tedious to everyone. So, let's then move to what actually WAS good: The views definitely. Simply stunning! It had an open fire place which was nice & the other thing to receive a high mark was the location. Very close, walking distance to town. The hot water worked well, we never had a cold shower & it was clean. Also, when we contacted the owners for various things, they responded quickly. Would I go back? No. Would I recommend it to someone else? Yes. BUT - I would tell them to get their expectations right, because even though this chalet had its good sides, it does really not belong in the luxury category. It was also quite expensive considering it was just the two of us on totally off season, (we saw loads of empty chalets all around).

“Outstanding chalet with an outstanding view of Montblanc”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2016

Recently stayed for a week of mountain hiking in Chamonix. The chalet is great. We were comfortable and enjoyed an outstanding view of Montblanc directly from the sunny balcony. A pleasant 5 minutes walk from the town centre gives a quiet tranquil feeling to the place and the kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm. Amazing location and can't wait to return for more Cham based fun.

“Excellent, highly recommended Chalet”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2016

Had a brilliant week staying in this wonderful chalet. Never done a summer Alps holiday before but will definitely return. The weather was amazing and the hiking fantastic. The chalet is perfectly located a small walk from Chamonix high street, with its great restaurants/shops etc and its close to the train station and some lifts. Accommodation is spacious, modern, cosy with a fully equipped kitchen making self catering a joy. Bedrooms are clean with expensive bedding and we slept well. Great garden for BBQs and deck to chill and admire the view, and its that view that makes this chalet - perfect view of Mont Blanc, and you can see it as you wake up in the master bedroom. Highly recommend this place and will be returning.

“Fantastic Chalet in Perfect Location!”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2016

Just back from a wonderful ski holiday in Chamonix. We were 6 adults and 5 kids aged from 8-15. The chalet was just perfect. It is clean, modern, warm and spacious - perfect for socialising and chilling after skiing. It is in the best location, just a few minutes walk from town but very quiet (and I am sensitive to noise at night). The owners could not have done more to make the holiday. Fantastic memories for all! ESF Chamonix will collect you from the chalet too. 100% recommend staying here!
