Why Chamonix?

This sensational ski resort in the Rhône-Alpes region is one of the best places in the world to ski, whether you're a novice or a pro. Mont Blanc, the largest mountain in western Europe, is a stunning, snow-capped sight, and the cosy coffee shops, rustic restaurants and independent shops are the icing on the cake.

Self-catering accommodation in Chamonix is excellent. If you're looking for a cosy chalet for two or a family-sized apartment, you're in the right place. All you need to do is pick your favourite holiday rental for your exhilarating skiing break in Chamonix.

Skiing, snowboarding and more

Chamonix is an extreme sports paradise. Whether you want to scale the heights of a mountain, cycle through the valley or paraglide over the hills, there are many ways to get that adrenaline rush. For something a little different, try river rafting or horseback riding. If you prefer to take things at a slower pace, there are many ski schools that help newcomers take their first tentative slides on the snow. For non-skiers, spending the day simply wandering around the streets and shops is a joy in itself.

Chamonix is just as beautiful in the summer as it is in the winter and the activities are just as entertaining. Take a cable-car up the Midi and enjoy a refreshing drink and amazing views when you arrive. For a train ride with atmosphere, board a red retro engine on the Montenvers railway reaching Mer de Glace glacier. The ice caves and exhibitions on crystals and Alpine fauna are fascinating. Alternatively, a simple stroll around enjoying the breathtaking views will inspire you.

Alpine picnics

There are some fantastic farmer's markets in Chamonix, so why not prepare yourselves a picnic at your holiday rental before going on a high alpine walk? You can breathe in the clean, mountain air and admire the beautiful wildlife before settling down in a quiet spot for a bite to eat.

Chalet 715 - Stunning 7 bedroom chalet in Chamonix
Incredible Chalet, Location & Hosts

When searching for a chalet for a long weekend in Chamonix with 14 runners from London, Chalet 715 stood out from the rest and we weren't disappointed. From the communication with the chalet owner; Giles to the flexibility on the arrival time, it was a great start to the trip. The view from the chalet towards Mont Blanc wowed everyone, particularly as you get the same view from the large living / dining room, balcony, several bedrooms and HOT TUB. It's beautifully finished and as we were self catering, had everything we needed to cook up a storm in the evening. The comfort of the beds were all commented on which was fab as everyone needed good nights sleep after running in the hills all day. Located next to Hotel Vert meant a drink out was super easy on our tired legs but with only a 15min stroll into town, we could leave all the cars at the chalet and meander in without worrying about public transport. Everyone's returned having had a super time in some fabulous May weather and there's already talk of returning later in the year back to the same chalet (because why would we go anywhere else!?). see more
Chalet Maverick
Great chalet, great location, stunning views

This chalet sleeps and accommodates 8 reasonably comfortably. It has a good communal areas and facilities, a good garden with hot tub and views of glaciers to die for. It is in a quiet location just a few minutes drive from Chamonix centre. Great for a summer walking group trip. Good kitchen (though oven was partly broken on our arrival) and washing/drying areas. TV room upstairs and down( we didn't find a SKY box just freesat) and a sauna. A good standard of overall accommodation but with the odd rough edge( for example broken window blinds). Despite the few rough edges this is a great chalet in a good location with stunning views. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. see more

great service, nice people, excellent food

If you like to have some unforgettable impressions with some good old friends, ask Jon for a slot and a cabin! The place itself was wonderful, everything was arranged with an eye of detail. The whole team helped us with extra services, before we even thought about it. Finally and best of all - the food – top! It was one of the most exciting ski holiday´s, I ever had see more
Chez Jules - Apartment 4 Pers
Everything we needed in a great location

My boyfriend and I stayed in Julian's apartment for 4 nights skiing in February. The apartment was exactly what we needed; nice comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, great hot and strong shower and directly opposite the bus stop at Chamonix Sud so we didn't have to walk far in our ski boots. Also only a 5 minute stroll to the centre of Chamonix with nice bars, shops and restaurants. Alex met us the following morning after a very late flight in, and was very helpful recommending places to go and the buses we needed to get. We loved our stay in Chamonix and would 100% recommended staying in this apartment if you're after great value for money! see more
