“Dream of a log cabin”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2016

We have just spent a brilliant two weeks in Chalet Rus which is an absolutely superb log cabin. We were warmly greeted by Colin who showed us around and told us everything we needed to know. It is an oasis of peace and tranquillity, is extremely well equipped and very cosy and warm. The views from the cabin are wonderful as you look out over Loch Eil with the mountains in the background. We loved seeing the Jacobite Steam train as it passed by in the distance on the other side of the Loch each morning. Guests are free to walk up the back from the log cabin giving even more panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The weather was ok but on the day when we had very strong winds and driving rain, we thoroughly enjoyed staying in the log cabin for most of the day. Although it was never really cold, we couldn't resist putting the log burner on a couple of times and there is an ample supply of kindling wood and logs. Upon his return from a trip away, Karl made a point of coming to meet us to check that everything was ok and that we were happy. At the end of the first week, Colin came and changed the bedding and the towels. Few of our highlights were travelling on the Jacobite Steam train from Fort William to Mallaig & back, walking along the Caledonian canal and numerous walks in Glen Nevis where the scenery is just stunning. Chalet Rus is simply one of the best self catering places we've stayed in and we are already looking to see when we can return.

Thank you so much for your very detailed review of Chalet Rus. We do strive to make our visitors feel welcome and to simply relax in the chalets. Again, thank you and we look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future, you are always welcome. Kindest regards

“Absolutly Amazing Chalet”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

Amazing chalet with amazing views of the loch at bottom of drive and Ben Nevis with a little bit of snow in june. Unfortunatly we did not get to meet Karl but Colin was great waiting on the balcony for us when we arrived. The amenities are exellent and clean. We went up Ben Nevis on the gondala for more amazing views but some of the best views are from the Jacobite (Harry Potter) steam train from Fort William to Mallaig. We even went to Loch Ness and back. Such a great time and wonder full place we have already booked for next year

Hi, so glad you had such a lovely time. Sorry I was not here to greet you but when you come again next year I will welcome you personally I promise! Thank you for booking again for next year. Looking forward to meeting you. Kindest regards
