From the owner

Casa la Barraca is a wonderful modern yet rustic house set at the foot of the Sierra de Tejeda Mountains. It offers the most wonderful views of the Sierra Tejeda National park. The area is almost untouched by tourism unlike other parts of Andalucia.

Casa La Baraca is a 3 double bedroomed villa set among 5000 sqm of olive and Almond trees. The outside also offers a lovely terrace with a solar heated pool for all year swimming with the most incredible views. Inside the villa boast a lovely log burner for the cooler months as well as full air conditioning and heating. The kitchen is stocked with many utilities to make your stay a home away from home. Including, a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, bread making machine, family size toasted sandwich maker and much much more.

The nearest villages are either Alcaucin or Puente Don Manuel. Both are around 3km away and offer a range of Shops, Bars, and restaurants. Alcaucin also has two banks and a post office and a medical center. A true whitewashed village steeped in history.

If you want to travel out and about the Beaches are only 25 mins drive away and there you have a full array of shops and Restaurants, Its also not far to Granada and in the winter months the ski resort of Sierra Nevada.

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat yet close to amenities this is the villa for you.

Please note, if air conditioning or vent heating is required we ask for an extra 100€ per week. This can be decided on arrival depending on the weather.

Why can't I call Rebecca (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Rebecca (the owner) a message.

If Rebecca (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
