The villa is newly built, pristine and spacious, and sits on the edge of a residential area outside of Barga.

Despite the 'town' location, the property has the benefit of fantastic views across fields, with the mountains in the background.

There is a private garden with BBQ, terrace, and pool ideal for enjoying restful days at home….

The newly built nature of the property means there is a light and airy feel to the accommodation which consists of 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, entrance hall, living room and kitchen/diner, leading into the garden and large eating terrace.

All accommodation is situated on the ground floor….

A fantastic choice for those wishing to be within walking distance of facilities, but also requiring some personal family space….

Location description from manager

The Tuscany region

The Tuscan Region of Italy is well known for its warm balmy summers, beautiful countryside, rolling hills, mouth - watering food, and of course its towns and villages, rich with mediaeval architecture…

The Garfagnana region of Tuscany, often known as its 'Green Lung' is situated away from the milling crowds that can often be found at the most famous Tuscan locations and is totally unspoilt, remaining untouched by tourism.
The scenery is spectacular, green and mountainous with views of both the Apuane and Appenine mountains at every turn…And, due to the altitude whilst the weather can be very hot, it is always pleasantly cool for sleeping…
The food is usually home made, using home grown produce, and is typically simple and extremely tasty. Prices here remain very reasonable due to the fact that food is prepared with the locals, and not tourists in mind…The local wine is cheap and surprisingly drinkable!
The pace of life is slow and peaceful – spend your days enjoying secluded picnics, swimming in rivers, or watching locals play bocce or 'cheese throwing'. Visit hundreds of ancient hill top villages, or relax at home basking in stunning scenery.
For 'townie' days, visit the mediaeval towns of Barga, Lucca, Castelnuovo, with Pisa and Florence within easy reach too…

Albiano

Casa Patrizia is situated less than a 15 minute walk (less than a 5 minute drive) from the historic centre of the mediaeval town of Barga. The hilly, cobble stoned centre has wonderful views, bars, restaurants, Cathedral, plenty of interesting architecture, art galleries, theatre, Saturday morning market, and lots of little Squares for al fresco dining or for just watching the world go by. In the Summer, there are lots of fiestas in town, some of which feature live music - anything from classics, to pop/rock, to jazz.

Closer to home there is a restaurant/pizzeria, shop/bar within a 2 minute walk of the property. Further afield, there is the market town of Castelnuovo (famous for its Thursday morning market) within a 15 minute drive….Pisa is an hour or so away, the beautiful fully walled city of Lucca is a 45 minute drive, the Coast just over an hour, and Florence 1hr 15 mins too. A perfect base for an all year round stay!

“We loved every minute of our stay”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2015

Our stay at Casa Patrizia was simply fantastic and we would love to return there again. The location is perfect; on the outskirts of Barga so you are not affected by any noise or crowd from the town, but just close enough for easy access to the bars/restaurants/shops. The house itself was very clean, all the amenities were a high standard and it was such a relaxing environment we really struggled to leave on our final day! The views from the terrace were superb and to have so much space both inside and outside of the property was excellent. The pool was a wonderful bonus and in the heat we had, it was most welcome. The owners were wonderful to deal with and so friendly; from being there to greet us very late after we took a wrong turn and arrived about 2 hours after we were expected, to seeing us off on our final day. On arrival they had left us a freshly made pie and also cleaned the pool every morning; small touches that helped make our holiday so enjoyable. We have stayed in Tuscany a few times and this was probably our favourite trip. We think you would struggle to find a better villa for size, amenities, location and price. We cannot recommend Casa Patrizia highly enough and look forward to our next visit!

“A beautiful villa in an exceptional setting.”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2015

This is the second time we have stayed at this villa and I expect we will stay there again in the near future. The owners are lovely people who gave us a warm welcome and made sure we had all the information we needed. They also stay very close to the property which is ideal if any problems arise ( we didn't find any, I hasten to add). It is an ideal property if you are looking for peace and quiet , although it is a 20 minute walk away from the centre of the town. Also, at the end of the street, there is a shop which provides all you require for your stay and it also is a great place to eat or stop by for a coffee.

“Lovely villa and beautiful views”

Our second visit to Casa Patrizia and just as magical as the first time. Lovely villa, great views over the Tuscan hills and relaxing pool. Can't wait to go back

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review on this popular house which as you will know gets many repeat bookings!

“A superb Holiday Villa owned by a friendly, helpful man with a lovely family”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2014

We have stayed twice before, and have booked again for next year.Marco, the owner, and Patrizia, his wife, are the nicest couple, always willing to help in any matter. The sheets are all changed once a week, and the pool is cleaned every day. The Villa is really well appointed, very clean and the garden is well kept..The pool is totally secluded. My wife ,myself ,and our family love holidaying at Casa Patrizia. There is a small friendly shop over the road from the Villa stocking all one's main requirements, and there is an excellent butchers a very short distance from the Villa. I strongly recommend Casa Patrizia for a great holiday.

“Bliss in Barga”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2014

We enjoyed a wonderful week staying at Casa patrizia, it's situated right on the edge of town an easy walk in the evenings to both the old and new town. Plenty going on and good activities in the area, we loved canyoning. The villa is very private, lovely pool and spectacular views. The interior is very spacious and clean if a little old fashioned. The owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Would certainly consider going back for another visit.
