“Stunning location, gorgeous villetta, excellent service!” Villetta Tranquillita is situated on the corner near the BBQ area which was perfect for us as we could enjoy our dinner outside and be close to our baby sleeping. The views from the villetta are amazing, I particularly loved having a leisurely breakfast on the balcony. Simply stunning. We arrived in a terrific thunderstorm which made for an interesting drive from Milan, especially the drive down to the villetta, but once you've done it, it's fine the second time! Eric is a fantastic host, making sure we had everything we needed for the baby and giving good recommendations of where to eat locally. All in all, we had a great holiday and would love to come back sometime!
“great option in lake como” stayed for a week with 4 kids, second year in a row, location is amazing, half way betwwen bellaggio and como, waterfront with a sand deck, both us and the kids loved it.
Not to mention that eric is a wonderful host
will definitely go back next year
“Absolutely amazing!” Robin and Eric were great hosts. The warm welcome was so great and the staff they had to help bring our luggage and groceries to our villa was spectacular.
The Villa was such a great accommodation for the week that we stayed there for our sons wedding. Really enjoyed the boat ride to the villages and towns which was only a short walk from the villa. Having the grocery store (delicious fresh baked bread and pesto) close as well was very handy and they also delivered the groceries to your room. Great memories were made at this Lake Como Beach Resort...Ryan and Jessie's dream wedding. Would definitely recommend this as a holiday resort.
“Lombardy/Lakes Gem” Our stay began with a wonderful drive from the Como train station to the Villetta by a driver recommended by the owners. We were knocked out when we saw the Villetta, and loved every moment we were there. Owners Eric and Robin have created a special place. Mid-stay, we were exhausted and just hung out at the Villetta's beach and were so refreshed the next day to continue our assault on the area. All the comforts are provided, plus the owner Eric escorts you to a local grocer, points out the ferry dock, gifts you with local wine, gets you online (free), shows you the satellite TV, and then checks in with you during your stay to ensure everything is perfect. The night-time views across the lake are special, the lending library and video library are great, and the setting of this fabulous property could not be better; close to the lake action, but quiet and removed if that is your preference as well. A true gem, do not miss it.
“The loveliness of Lake Como is only exceeded by the hospitality” Lake Como is justly famous for the beauty of the lake and the many small towns all around but the helpfulness of Eric and Robin make this a superb vacation, enabling you to fully enjoy the Italian experience. We received many helpful suggestions, and accomodations were made cheerfully and promptly. Whether it was exploring agengno, renting a boat or dinner in Bellagio, there was always more to do than we could fit in-even with two weeks. We enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, sharing a glass of wine over the barbecue and the lake.
“A very enjoyable stay, indeed” I really haven't much to say.
We've been to Northern Italy several times before, but never visited the Como area. Our first stay in Pognana Lario was definitely a success, and we'll most likely be back next year.
“Home base for our honeymoon” My wife and I knew we wanted to stay at Lake Como for our honeymoon, but we weren't exactly sure where. Luckily, she found the Lake Como Beach Resort and the trip was wonderful. Eric could not have been a more helpful and friendly host. He was always just a phone call away if we had a question or needed something. His advice most definitely made our stay easier and more relaxing. I have to give him major credit.
Our villetta was well kept and had a wonderful view out toward the lake, which you could see from the bed and was amazing to wake up to. There is a lawn area to sit and relax and even some sand up against the lake if you're in a beach mood. The lake was a bit cold for a dip in May (at least for us), but that didn't stop an australian couple who did it anyway!
My wife was a huge fan of visiting the grocery in Pognana Lario to pick up meats, cheeses, bread, fruit, and wine. That was our go-to place for snacks. They also had some great fresh pesto, which we ate with some pasta for dinner one night.
Honestly, it was a great place to stay and served us well as a hub for visiting the various towns around the lake. The public transport was easy to use, but be aware that the hours of operation were a bit limiting. I think my one piece of advice would be to rent a car. That way you can operate on your own schedule.
I would definitely suggest staying at the Lake Como Beach Resort. With all the help from Eric, it's simple and relaxing. Hopefully we'll make it back there ourselves.
