“What a fabulous house!” We've just had a wonderful family holiday in this beautiful house with five adults and four small children being accommodated brilliantly - and still loads of room left! This delightful house has been very sympathetically renovated so that none of its character has been lost but at the same time the beds, bedding and soft furnishings are of high quality and extremely comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything and anything you could possibly need including a good store cupboard of dry goods. The wood burning stove was the icing on the cake for me.
The location is utterly perfect for sightseeing in the Normandy region, such as visits to the Bayeux Tapestry and Mont St Michel and the whole D Day landings history of the area was a great history lesson, with visits to the Cemeteries, Landing Beaches and St Mere Eglise. We were delighted to find a boxed set of Saving Private Ryan DVDs and various books on the D Day landings at the house, to browse through before we made the visits.
All in all a wonderful place for a three generation family holiday with huge garden areas for the children to play in. The owners were great, quickly responding to all the queries and questions we had before we went and they clearly see this house as a home from home, both in the way it's equipped and in the passion with which they speak about it. Thank you to them for a fabulous holiday and also for sharing the photos of the renovation.
