“Peaceful and relaxing....a perfect getaway!” Just arrived back from a short break at Le Grenier and can safely say it was an excellent choice! The property is in a very rural and beautiful area in Lower Normandy and is perfectly placed to visit the D Day landing beaches, museums and war cemeteries, Le Mont St Michel, Bayeux, as well as the quaint typically rural French villages in the surrounding areas. A car is needed, as the nearest village is about a 10 minutes drive. The hosts, Pauline and Phil are wonderful...nothing was too much bother and they had thought of everything. A true home from home! A welcome pack containing milk, butter, biscuits, cheese, bread and most importantly a bottle of wine, was provided and really hit the spot. Also to their credit, they were extremely friendly and welcoming, however your privacy and peace was important to them. The studio is self contained and has it's own entrance and garden area, but Pauline and Phil are on hand for anything you may need (though this is unlikely, as the give has it all!) Really hoping to visit again and want to thank you for your friendliness during our stay. You are a credit to the business!!

“Fantastic house in beautiful location” We stayed at La Prise Boulay during 1/2 term week in June and we had a truly memorable week. The cottage and gardens were stunning, we had a lovely welcome from Pauline who was also extremely helpful with local information; the wine, cheese and essentials were a great bonus! There was plenty to see and do in the area including the Grand Cascades waterfalls and Fosse Arthur and lots of funparks for the kids amusement. The sun shone all week and we didn't want to come home.

La Fermette
Beautiful location & great cottage

Our family of 5 ( 2 adults + 3 children aged 6,6,14) stayed for a week in August. The property was approximately 1.5 hours drive from Caen and on arrival we were met by Helen, the property manager. She was very welcoming & gave us a tour of the house & explained key points about the property. The house was very spacious and well furnished with plenty for us to do if the weather wasn't so great. Down in the basement (accessed from outside at the back of the property) the table tennis table was well used, though the old gym equipment and smaller games tables were not used and were a bit tatty. The stairs in the house are very steep and the treads are narrow - not so easy with big feet! The beds were very comfortable, but the 13.5tog duvets were much too hot for summer time. The lounge was lovely - comfy leather sofas, soft lighting and UK tv channels - great for watching the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Although there was a huge supply of DVDs in the house, we were unable to get the DVD player to work. We would highly recommend this house and the local area is stunning. … see more
La Vieille Vente near Mortain Lower Normandy
Lovely place to stay for people of all ages

We've just come back from a lovely week at La Vieille Vente near Mortain in Lower Normandy. The house is roomy and very comfortable (all mod cons!). A lot of care and attention has obviously gone into making it feel a true home from home. It's set in open countryside but there's loads to do fairly near at hand. There are some lovely walks nearby and in particular the waterfall and surrounding area is really beautiful. We visited St Malo, Granville and Donville-les-Bains. The town of Mortain is in easy reach and well worth spending time there. We would recommend a holiday here to everyone, and would certainly visit again. … see more

A beautiful gite

We have just returned from 10 days in the gite the weather could have been better but it did not detract from our enjoyment. The location is ideal for exploring Normandy mont st Michel only 45km on easy French roads. There are several walks close by which we thoroughly enjoyed The gite itself is very well equipped everything you need for cooking great food Carrefour & aldi less than 5 mins drive away. La Prise Boulay
Lovely

A lovely place to stay. Near some beautiful little villages where you can pop to get fresh baguettes; Only a short drive away. The cottage is beautifully decorated with all mod cons including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage is equipped with wifi which was extremely useful to access google maps to navigate around the area. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, with some biscuits and some baguettes to bake. We would reccommend a visit to Fougeres Castle, and also a visit to Bagnoles d'Lorne. We enjoyed our stay, thank you to Peta, Pauline and of course Carol! Brilliant

We stayed at this wonderful gite it was beautiful,clean very well kept and the hospitality of sue was unbeatable.there was 3 adults and 5 children.nothing was too much trouble for her.from driving my son to recover his lost phone in the dark to putting up with the noise of our children(plus us adults) we ask the children if they would come back next year and they all said yes and they were sad to leave.not only did we have one of the most memorable holidays.we made a wonderful friend in you sue.we can't wait until next year to book again.that's if you can put up with us again.there is everything you need in this place and it was a little bit of heaven for us all thankyou so very much sue you're the best.xxx … see more
