“Lovely cottage in the heart of the Perigord gastronomic region” Les Cerisiers was a delightful cottage for two with access to a huge garden. We spent nearly 3 weeks here. It sits on an escarpment overlooking the Bastide village of Monpazier. The cottage was well equipped, and comfortable and it gave us a base for our exploration of this fascinating region. It is a region full of history, pre-history and gastronomic delights. We had access to the rest of the world through both British and French TV, but found little time to watch. We could keep in touch with family via WiFi. We would be delighted to return.
“Beautiful villa, well equipped and in a beautiful area of France” Our trip was taken with 3 other couples from our Classic Car Club. It was my turn to organise the trip for this year, and I had the idea of renting a villa, which although we have holidayed together a couple of times before, we had always stayed in hotels to tour. The brief I had was that every couple wanted their own en suite, a private pool safe parking for our beloved jaguars and within a beautiful and interesting area of France. I can tell you that this is a tall order to fulfil! After hours of trawling the internet, I came across the Villa St Therese, and what a find that was!!
The owner Rosemary Vine was so helpful and provided us with details of the house and of of the area. The best was yet to come, when we arrived at the house, it was far more impressive that we had imagined, and all of us were impressed with the setting, the quality of furnishings and with how well equipped the house was. Monpazier and the surrounding area is stunning. The only drawback was that the weather wasn't kind to us, but we had a great stay all the same.
We were really impressed with our accommodation at Chez Edell. It is perfect for a couple staying in beautiful
Monpazier. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts John and Edell who were on hand with advice when required. They made our stay really easy and stress free.Monpazier has around 9 restaurants,2 small supermarkets and various shopsWe would be delighted to stay here again. …
The perfect way to experience France
Bastide 1353 is a great house in an amazing location. Monpazier and the surrounding area is a melting pot of French life, markets, history, great restaurants and squares too while away the day or people watch.
The house is just a pleasure to come back too, loads of old characterful features and it has all the facilities you want, lovely furniture and beautiful pieces throughout the house to enjoy. There is a courtyard where we enjoyed breakfast, dinner and a few drinks with our friends. The top of my list were the beds, just so comfortable, best sleep for a long time.
Bastide 1353 is only 50 metres away from the town square with its restaurants and bars which are full of life yet when back at the house it is nice and quiet.
Absolutely recommend Bastide 1353!

Relaxing holiday in Monpazier
Although I had visited the Dordogne before I'd never actually heard of Monpazier. A short drive out of Belves gets you to this beautiful Bastide town - and we stayed in this lovely house just a few minutes walk. The owners are so welcoming and helpful - even when we arrived fairly late - putting on a spread of food to welcome us at the end of journey. The morning greets you with an amazing splash of colour which you can watch develop from the balconies... while looking at the surrounding countryside. The house is clean and tidy with everything you need and the pool is kept warm with plenty of facilities. A perfect spot for a relaxing break - quiet - but also only a short walk to town or 30 minutes drive to the Dordogne river for a bit of canoeing... thank you! …

Cosy cottage all to yourselves: 700m walk to village, beautiful views, gardens
A charming home in a stunning part of France
Les Cerisiers is the sort of place I've always wanted to stay at. A charming stone cottage set amongst a private orchard, it is within easy walking distance of the walled town of Monpazier. From the minute one walks in there is a feeling of homeliness and comfort, and all the necessary things are there, plus many more thoughtful items. The beautifully equipped kitchen is great for cooking (with top quality knives!), the lounge has a cosy fireplace if needed, there is an outdoor garden setting for la pleine enjoyment (weather permitting), and the mezzannine bedroom, with lovely comfortable brass bed makes for a tranquil night's sleep.
Rosemary was a terrific host to liaise with, always prompt in reply, and helpful in every regard. The coded key entry system worked easily, but my only words of warning are the finding of the actual street was a little fraught for us as French mapping and street naming seems to have more than one street with the same name. As long as you take the uphill track opposite the turn off to Villereal you should find it ok.
Monpazier itself is a fantastic town; not overly commercialised or overrun by tourists (well, a few pass through in the day, but by night you almost feel like a local. ) There are plenty of terrific restaurants, excellent markets, and it is not too far to drive to many of the other exceptional places in the Dordogne/Perigord region. …
Elegant villa: Big Pool, 700m walk to village, stunning views, lovely gardens
Perfect base for a family Easter holiday.
It's always a bit anxious until you actually see what it is that you have booked for your stay - then you arrive at Villa St. Therese with a huge sigh of relief that the property delivers all that is promised. The location of the house is perfect as a base to explore the village and the local area. Only a short drive from so many beautiful destinations - so many we couldn't possible fit it all in. The house itself is bursting with French country charm and is very well equipped for those big cooking sessions after a trip to one of the local markets. The village is a stones throw away so anything we needed was in easy reach - like a local wine to enjoy by the fire in the evenings. We are so pleased we decided on this property. …
