“A wonderful week in Normandy” My wife and myself went to Normandy for her birthday as we had never been away for it. We stayed at Gite St Vigor at Le Calipel. Although we had stayed here before, this time was even better than the last, the Gite makes a terrific base for exploring the locality, and further afield if this takes your fancy. Visiting the local towns and villages is to be recommended as they still retain a lot of the "personal touch" unlike bigger cities.
The gite itself is comfortable with one bedroom, a well appointed bathroom and kitchen/lounge diner with plenty of seating and an awesome log burner for those cold autumn and winter nights. There is a television, although we did not really use it as we played cards or read a book later in the evening.
We would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone wishing to stay in Normandy.
Vive Le Calipel!!!!!!
“Spacious beach village home” The group of us really enjoyed our week in the house, even the dogs! Plenty of room for everyone with a well equipped kitchen and huge comfy beds. The great terrace area outside with BBQ was perfect to entertain everyone.
Its only a short walk to the beach with hundreds of Mussel poles and nice sand for fun for all.
The village is a short drive from Granville which has a nice market on Saturdays and many fine restaurants.
Mont Saint Michel and D Day landing beaches make good day trips from here.
Already looking forward to booking for next year!
“Great cottage, great location.” The cottage was excellent for a group of nine people. In effect it meant that everyone had an on-suit.
Percy was excellent as a base for walking and the bakeries in the town provided superb bread and pastries.
The restaurant near the Abbey at Hambye provided good food and wine at a price that was not unreasonable.
