“Memories from a heavenly place” I am one of those fascinated about Italy and this one was my eigth trip to this charming country. We have already stayed in basic accommodations ( a chain hotel for budget travelers ), normal hotels (70-80 euro per night ) and a luxury grand hotel in Sorrento ( I’m ashamed to say the price). Now I can say that from all those places we have stayed, we have felt the best in Casa Margherita 2. We are an adult couple and shared the house with an other couple and an old lady. We were five adult persons. The price was so good that I had some worries before going there ( the photos are showing old furniture, there was no photo with the bathroom, the prices in that region were usually much higher )… It was a great surprise for me. The apartment wasn’t very big but big enough for us , very clean, classy, with much light and fresh air . I have found in the kitchen EVERYTHING you could imagine, probably there are things I don’t have in my home. The bathroom was similar to those from 4 stars hotels ( including a hydromassage shower cabin, a bidet toilet seat ), all new and clean and furnished with washing machine. I was astonished… I have carried in my suitcase lots of things I have imagined we’ll need , because we usually have stayed in hotels and this one was the first time in a self care apartment. It was good for nothing, as we had everything at the place.We found in Casa Margherita 2 everything we needed. We had felt very much the same as we were in a visit at some very close relatives. I’m afraid we were a bit too noisy, as we actually have forgotten we were not at our home. I can’t pretend it is a 4 stars hotel but, after all, for us it was better. The house is really close to everything (center, port, bus station via Giuseppe Gorio 17), in a silent place. We arrived by train and took the number 5 bus from the station .However, I don’t recommend the bus for those who can’t speak Italian because the driver runs very fast , usually stops at request and there is no notification about the next station. A taxi would be better : when we leaved the house mrs Gigliola called one for us and the fee was 10-11 euros for five persons and lots of luggage. The last 20 meters before getting to the house were a little steep but with no stairs. We found right at the crossing of via Zezio with via Maurizio Monti a little grocery shop with everything we needed, as we were preparing our meals at home. Last, but not least, we found very special property owners. They are very discrete and still always present and kindly available when you need an advice. I can’t thank them enough, especially to signora Gigliola !! My advice for other travelers : stay there at least a week, our trip was shorter ( 4 nights ) and it was definitely too short for so many wonderful places you can visit.
