    Monferrato: elegant apartment antico casale
    Great spot, lovely house

Firstly I would say that this house is so much better than the pictures. We were expecting an OK house and we got much more than we were expecting. You reach the property after entering electric gates so safety is really not an issue here. There is allocated parking for this property. It is set in a courtyard type layout and has the most beautiful views. It is extremely well maintained and looks impressive. The pool is a good size and is 1.5 metres throughout, so no deep end. It is good quality throughout. There are two allocated sun loungers for the house and clear pool rules to ensure standards are met (no inflatables allowed). The house itself is very good and the ground floor has an open plan lounge which leads onto the kitchen area. It is well equipped with tea towels, cling film, washing up liquid etc. You really don't need to take anything with you, if your needs are pretty normal. The bedrooms are fine and functional. All rooms have great quality windows with built in shutters and mosquito nets throughout, which is a real must. The upstairs bathroom doesn't have a separate shower but it is really easy to stand in the bath and hold the shower head. Again the pictures of the bathroom don't really show the reality, it is very good quality and spotlessly clean. The location itself is good and sits about 90 minutes from Milan, Turin or the sea. You can also see the Swiss mountain range with snow in July! The local town of Moncalvo has two supermarkets and a really nice square with some good and reasonable priced restaurants. Germana was very good and was happy to meet us even though we arrived really late and showed us around. Communication was good and her English is very good so any problems are easy to fix. All in all this is a good spot if you want beautiful views, a quality setting, a pool (which we mostly had to ourselves) and really well priced accommodation that is good quality and very clean. You do need a car but this hardly an issue. I would definitely recommend this property, particularly considering the price. see more
