This will be the 3rd time my husband & I have stayed in this charming and cozy apartment in the centre of Luscignano, a medieval hill top village. It is at the top (3rd floor) of a small apartment block and, although it has all you will need to make your stay comfortable, it is the wonderful room-sized balcony with 180 degree views of the marble topped mountains, olive groves and the rest of the ancient village that you will remember. Sunsets are magical! Although there are no restaurants or stores in the tiny village, there are plenty of amenities in the nearby towns. And Luscignano is a great base…even after 3 visits, we have not exhausted all the area has to offer….picturesque towns, castle ruins, caves, walled cities etc….all in a breathtaking natural setting. If you are looking for tranquility and the chance to get away from it all, while at the same time, the opportunity to explore a wonderful part of the world, this may be the place for you. …
La Casa Padronale del Poggiolo
Truly Unique Italian Experience
Gorgeous gardens and fascinating architecture--La Casa Padronale del Poggiolo is a truly unique Italian experience.
The owners have been careful to preserve the beautiful, original features of this building, nestled in a medieval village surrounded by spectacular scenery. Staying here gave me a true taste of history, in a peaceful, relaxing, dreamlike setting. Personally, I could have spent my entire vacation in the garden eating figs and listening to the church bells.
Lots of lovely walks in the area. The Amercian host is charming and easy to communicate with if you need him
Highly recommended. …
Luxury Tuscan villa with private pool and glorious mountain views, 5/6 bedrooms
Million dollar view
As the other reviewers say the pictures do not do the villa justice. The owners have spent alot of time and money on the lovingly restored residence. It does not feel or look like any other holiday home I have stayed in,it feels as if you are staying at a very upgrade friends house.
Its getaway location is wonderfull and very close to nature. The fire flies at night are magical and the swifts drinking on the wing at the pool is a fantstic sight.
There are many interesting sights quite locally but the Cinque Terre on the coast is an unforgettable place.
Overall the whole holiday was 12 out of 10. …
great value for money
Very clean, spacious and comfortable villa (good beds and showers) with great views of the mountains. Excellently situated for a family that looks for a quiet place to stay, but also wants a lot of activities with 1 hour drive. We did a lot of cycling and walking activities and combined this with lazy days on the beach at Lerici.
The villa has a large and well equipped kitchen, but we hardly used the kitchen because of the nearby restaurant. The restaurants all have an excellent value for money ratio. …
