“Perfect house, perfect place” The cottage was even nicer than its photographs: beautifully proportioned, warm colours and well equipped. The garden was a delight, with wonderful views to the hills, and changing light through day and evening. Peter and Richard are excellent hosts, with helpful advice about places to go, good wine, and in our case, hands on help getting our car repaired in Italian. Swimming is 20 minutes away in cold green river pools, and it's 40 minutes up to the cool of the mountains for an early morning walk with amazing views and lots of birds, including an eagle.
“Romantic and inspiring” Le Pieve is the most romantic place to spend a vacation. Not only is this little chapel adjacent to the main house very tastefully renovated with all the stuff you need when you are on vacation but the whole idea of sleeping in a former chapel is just thrilling. Oh, and the view is just spectacular. We stayed in this idealic place for about 5 days the first week of December. Unfortunately Peter was in London at the time but we had the best time with Richard, a more gracious host and inspiring person is hard to find. He gave us many good tips on where to go, what the best day was to take a long walk (rain was always in the forcast but never really materialized, where to eat etc. Peter and Richard have a most enviable collection of books and CD's which they are willing to share with you when ever you have a need for it. We listed to many an opera while preparing dinner. We are already thinking about our next visit and I am actually a bit reluctant to write this glowing review. Maybe we want to keep this our little secret!
