Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Set in a quiet position but within walking distance of all the village amenities, Acorns is a very cosy bungalow with a well deserved 4 star TB grading. The owners have spared no effort in making it a homely property with all the facilities required to make your holiday as relaxing and comfortable as possible.
The village itself has excellent pubs and restaurants as well as tea rooms, shops & a Post Office – you may recognise Goathland as “Aidensfield” in the TV series “Heartbeat”. It's a superb spot from which to explore the whole of the Heritage coastline, being less than 10 miles away from the traditional fishing port of Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and the picturesque seaside village of Sandsend where you'll find a marvellous long stretch of sandy beach.
Take a trip on the North York Moors Steam Railway which stops at Goathland, taking you into the market town of Pickering for the day, or if you want to go a little further on your travels York, Castle Howard and Scarborough are all within an hour's drive. A very popular area with walkers of every ability, you can amble round the village or have a full day walking out over the moors and throughout the whole of the NYM National Park. Whatever your preference, be it energetic or more relaxing, we're sure you'll thoroughly enjoy your stay at Acorns.

We acknowledge your review of 'Acorns'.
Firstly may I thank you for bringing to our attention the faulty fridge. The thermostat had failed and a new fridge has now been installed. We were however perplexed by your comments re inadequate ventilation: The bungalow contains six opening windows, front and back doors and two large sets of patio doors, all serviced and maintained! We have never needed or suggested that we would provide a fan. However we did when asked. We find your comments on the black plug misleading as it was actually the underside of a mechanically lever operated plug which was only visible once removed. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our property and have never had a previous complaint, but have added the plug underside to our cleaning routine! The range of utensils and cleanliness conforms to our 4 star Tourist Board rating. We were dismayed to hear of the difficulty in using the dinner plates. They are of a standard design with a rim, and have been satisfactory for previous guests. We were also disappointed to find the kitchen blind had been broken during your stay but not reported to us. We repaired it immediately without notifying you in our spirit of immediate repairs for the comfort of our next guests.
