From the owner

Built in 1904 and located on a private road of large, individual detached houses, close to beautiful West Runton beach and only three minutes’ walk to the sea, Oakwood has been skillfully and sympathetically updated to be a comfortable and stylish holiday retreat.

Sleeping up to twelve guests we aim to share our holiday home with couples, families, friends and their pets and provide a relaxing and comfortable, yet elegant home away from home experience.

The accommodation briefly comprises of:

A large and beautifully fitted kitchen opening onto a light, bright garden room with french doors onto the garden. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, SMEG range oven and an American style Fridge/Freezer, The garden room provides dining for up to twelve people and a cosy sitting area. There is an aged, antique cupboard containing lots of family games and sets of playing cards.

Off the kitchen is a useful downstairs cloakroom and a utility space for drying clothes etc.

A large and cosy sitting room features a log burner, ideal for those chilly winter weekends away. There is a flatscreen 32" TV with Freeview, a DVD player and a small selection of family friendly films.

Directly leading from the hallway is a second sitting room / playroom. Equipped with lots of toys, books, an electric keyboard and a Subbuteo table (ideal for children and adults alike!) this room also has a TV / DVD player and provides a fantastic retreat for kids or a cosy reading room for adults. This room also contains a sofa bed to accommodate two people.

Five luxuriously appointed bedrooms; a large kingsize master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a stylish double bedroom with amazing sea views, a cosy second double bedroom, an enchanting children's bunk room with full size single bunks and in the attic space a bright and cheerful twin room. All rooms provide enclosed wardrobe hanging space, either drawers or enclosed shelving and we supply an abundance of wooden hangers for your clothes.

The well-fitted bathroom comprises a large bathtub and a separate shower unit. Luxury handwash and a hand towel are supplied.

All quality bed linen, fluffy bath sheets and hand towels and bath-mats are provided. All the beds are made up with hypo-allergenic 10.5 tog duvets, and all our beds have quality mattress and pillow protectors.

In the kitchen is a well-stocked under-sink cupboard containing washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, dishcloths and tea-towels. You’ll also find all the kitchen essentials such as foil, cling film and plastic bags supplied.

A travel cot, highchair and stair gates are provided if required.

To the front of the house there are up to three off-road parking spaces. At the rear of the property is fully self-contained and very private garden with a patio area, outdoor table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ.

Just a stones through from the wonderful West Runton beach

West Runton was recently named as one of the top ten coastal villages in the Sunday Times property section and provides an ideal base to visit all the beautiful coastal villages of North Norfolk.

Just down the road Sheringham boasts the wonderful Poppy Line Steam Railway, an annual Carnival week in August and numerous street markets and events throughout the year.

Oakwood is available for both weekly and short break hire.

How do damage deposits work?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Julie (the owner) a message.

If Julie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
