We do not accept dogs although those wishing to visit with friends or family could book together with our adjacent one bedroom property which does accept dogs (please see Kildrochet House - "Victorian Country Cottage / Forest 7 mins / Beach 10mins / Portpatrick 15 mins" on Trip Advisor/Flipkey, where you can also see our positive reviews.)

Known as "The Studio", our new one bedroom apartment is a conversion of outhouses within the grounds of our early 18th century main house. Flooded with light from the front doors and skylights, it has a very contemporary, 'Manhattan loft' character while maintaining a very cosy feel to it.

It sits in 5 acres of land comprising of a lawn, paddock and wooded area. Only 3 miles from the facilities of Stranraer and around a 7 minute drive to both the beach and a forest.

Built to a very high standard with clean lines, exposed beams and brick/stonework, we used mostly recycled stone and brick from the previous buildings and the old byres.

The kitchen/lounge area is open plan with high vaulted ceilings with floor to ceiling windows and double doors which open out onto a patio with a table and chairs. The bedroom leads from this and is separate from the main living area. There is a separate bathroom with walk in shower.

Other highlights include a wood burning stove, coffee pod machine with Nespresso milk frother, Alexa music player and courtyard. The UHD smart TV also has a built in premier Netflix subscription available to guests and there is high speed fibre optic wifi.

Coffee pods, tea and some milk is provided.

UPDATE: As of mid August 2021 we now have an ice making machine. We didn't include a freezer when doing the conversion due to limited space, but the new ice maker is small enough to sit on the worktop without too much clutter or be kept away in a cupboard.

Guests with bikes can lock them in the stables (although the property is generally very safe for leaving them outside anyway.)

How do damage deposits work?
