Manton Lodge Farm is a stunningly-positioned 18th-century stone farmhouse set in more than 100-acres of rolling grassland in rural Rutland. It boasts far-reaching views across the sweeping River Chater valley, and is a short distance from Rutland Water.
We offer two, modernized one-bedroom apartments: the "Garden Apartment" and the "Valley View Apartment". Each is completely self-contained with accommodation for two people, set up either with single beds or as a super-king double.
The Garden Room on the ground floor offers kitchen with seating area with armchairs and dining table and chairs and flat screen wall mounted TV, separate bedroom with TV and door that leads out onto terrace, bathroom with over bath shower.
The Valley View apartment on the first floor offers bathroom with over bath shower, galley kitchen which includes microwave, fridge, washing machine, 2 ring hob, small oven, kettle and toaster, this leads into sitting/dining area and an archway that leads to bedroom, this apartment is open plan with stunning views on two sides.
Free Wi-Fi is available in both apartments.
A wonderful feature is the house's acclaimed garden. Created by the current owner, who has been at the property for 35 years, and with an evolving design it boasts a wide variety of plant species and is regularly open to the public. Both apartments overlook the garden and guests are invited to explore its intimate surroundings, or simply sit and look out from the terrace and enjoy the stunning views beyond it of sheep grazing calmly on the landscape.

The attractive 3,100 acre reservoir has an international reputation for providing a balance of sport, leisure and wildlife conservation and offers everyone the opportunity to try something new. Rutland Water Nature Reserve: Information about the reservoir, its habitats, the birdwatching centre, Osprey project, events and various activities.
Rutland Water Cycling: Miles of traffic-free pathways on the edge of Rutland Water. There are hire facilities offering everything from mountain bikes, tandems, kids bikes, trailer bikes and buggies.
Rutland Water Fly Fishing: Expert flyfishing tuition, guided trips and coaching.
Rutland Sailing Club: Windsurfing is really big on Rutland Water! There are a number of regattas each year which attract some of the top professional windsurfers in the country. The place to launch from and hire equipment is Rutland Sailing Club.
The Rock Blok: Rutland's premier Outdoor Adventure Centre located on the north shore of Rutland Water.
Normanton Church: This fine church was saved during the construction of Rutland Water and is now a museum.
Eyebrook Reservoir: Another reservoir nearby which offers excellent trout fishing and is also an area of special scientific interest.
Oakham Castle: The splendid Great Hall of Oakham Castle is one of the finest examples of late 12th century domestic architecture in England.
Rockingham Castle: Steeped in history this castle provides educational tours, including an audio visual of the "Castle Under Siege".
Rutland County Museum: Houses a rich rural life collection from Rutland historically England's smallest county. Located in Oakham.

Burghley House: One of the finest examples of 16th century architecture and situated beside the medieval coaching town of Stamford. "Great place to stay while discovering Rutland/Oakham area."
This self-catering accommodation was well-appointed and spacious. The views from all rooms were pleasant and we loved watching the birds at their feeder while having breakfast. We were able to walk or drive to local pub after a day of exploring Rutland.

"A real retreat"
If you are looking for somewhere to escape from i.e. your busy life schedule and enjoy the peace provided by being in the depths of this lovely countryside, we would highly recommend Manton Lodge Farm.
This accommodation was cosy with all utilities catered for including lovely white cotton bed linen.
This magical retreat with always be a wonderful memory to myself and partner.

"Peaceful & Convenient"
We were in the Valley Apartment - comfortable with lovely views and ideal for a week's stay in order to catch up with nearby family. Being close to Rutland Water was another advantage as was the choice of many good pubs in the attractive surrounding villages.
