This attractive cottage has been cleverly converted from a 400 year old cider barn and is brimful of character. Situated on a small working farm between Ross-on-Wye and Gloucester, it is ideally located for exploring this increasingly popular area. The Forest of Dean starts just ¼ mile away: Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Wye Valley are a short distance, and Hereford and the Cotswolds an easy day's excursion. The beautiful May Hill National Trust Reserve is just five minutes' walk, providing perfect backdrops for picnic excursions.

Sweet Coppins (the name of a type of a local cider apple) is close to the farmhouse; it has its own small gated/walled patio area at the entrance and visitors are also welcome to share use of the orchard/play area nearby. There is a further area for dog-walking adjoining the orchard and horse & pony rides are available nearby

The cottage is interestingly arranged over four floors and has been converted to a high standard, graded 4 stars by Visit Britain, with all possible needs carefully thought through by its owners including a four poster bed and a whirlpool bath. There is a quality double sofa bed also available for additional visitors. This is a peaceful - and very animal-friendly place, and thoroughly recommended for a relaxed and battery-charging holiday.

"Fabulous cottage, very cosy, beautiful location, felt like home from home"

Sweet coppins was a fantastic cottage with everything u could ask for, very cosy, lovely kitchen, bathroom lounge & bedroom. loved the split levels that it was on. we stayed over the new year for 4 nights with our 2 little dogs. Perfect location, lots of lovely walks, even though the weather wasn't too great (horrific rain the first 2 days!) that didn't stop us! 2 great pubs at the end of the road, both very welcoming (with the dogs!) lovely food and open fires! The perfect break after a hectic Christmas. Matt & Liza were very welcoming, lovely home made mince pies on arrival! Couldn't have asked for more... Will definately be returning if they'll have us and our doggies!!

"excellent accommodation, pictureque and central to our needs."

the forest of dean is some of the most beautifull countryside we have stayed in. we have booked these cottages for the last 10 years as we visit cheltenham festival every year for the horse racing. Lisa and Mat are the best hosts making you feel very welcome and nothing is to much to ask. the area is great for everyone from couples to families with interesting walks and a variety of wild life all around you. there are excellent family friendly pubs serving good food at reasonable prices within a short walking distance to. short distance from cheltenham for festival lovers.
