About this location

The Cornwall region

Marhamchurch in north Cornwall, is very near the Devon border so Hilton is well situated to discover both counties. Picturesque villages such as Boscastle, Clovelly, Port Isaac and Tintagel are all within easy driving distance while Padstow - now famous for Rick Stein's restaurants - and Rock, are not much further.

There are a number of beautiful Cornish beaches nearby . These are all patrolled by lifeguards during summer and there is a safe natural sea pool at the nearby town of Bude. There are many surf schools in the area with whom you can arrange lessons. Pony trekking is also available. Walkers can explore the south west coastal path, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. The area is also popular with cyclists.

Bude, The Atlantic Village, Bideford, Barnstaple and Holsworthy, which on Wednesday has a cattle and pannier market are all excellent for shopping. You can also go to Plymouth and Exeter in Devon or the Cornwall capital, Truro, which all have big shopping centres. Activities for families include The Milky Way, The Big Sheep and Trethorne Leisure Farm.

There are also steam railways open to the public, local golf courses, historic villages such as Clovelly village and Hartland Quay. Further afield you might want to visit the renowned Eden Project near St Austell.

If you want more of an adventure you may want to try one of the many challenging outdoor sports available in Cornwall - coasteering and canoeing as well as surfing.

"great accommodation and really accommodating and friendly staff"

Great stay and accommodation. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. The farmhouse was perfect for our needs and the complex great for large or small parties. Beds were very comfy, rooms clean and cosy, and the owners extremely accommodating. We were a group of 10 adults, 4 babies, and 1 child and all had a great stay.
