About the home

The apartment is located near the village of Marlia ( 2.5 km.) where you can find the essential shops, banks, post office, drug store etc. The estate is family owned and is rented directly no agencies. Fienile is not an independent home but guest can shared the use of the gardens, a very attractive 12x7 m swimming pool with marvellous views of the countryside and garden furniture. There is also a ping pong table, a coin washing machine and barbecue corner with tables and chairs. FIENILE is part of a working farming estate so you will also find a few goats,some ponies and a couple of horses. The activities in the farming estate are at first relax and just do nothing, but you can also horse back ride, paraclimbing or stretch in the "Vita Parcour" of the estate. In town you can rent a mountain bike and ride around the Lucca's hill or just hike around the hills. There are many golf club spread around the area the location is between 40 minutes to one hour distance (FORTE dei MARMI, TIRRENIA, MONTECATINI etc.). Tennis club in Lucca 15 minutes driving, sport fishing along the Serchio river, sea side in Viareggio or the most exclusive beach of Forte de Marmi, Apuane Alps with its marble caves are only one hour driving, as well as the well known historical town of Firenze, Pisa, Siena at a stone throw from the estate.

Fienile is a two floor home. At the ground floor entrance/living room and kitchen dining room. An internal open staircase brings to the first floor. At the first floor 4 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms: one bedroom with double bed and bath tube in the bathroom and the others 3 bedroom have twin beds and shower in the bathroom. Either the furniture, either the fabbrics have been carefully chosen so the ambiance looks charming..Almost all the windows have screen nets. Outside you have your own table with chairs so you may eat outside as well as a big umbrella. The shared swimming pool is close to the apartment. The apartment has been all restored in 2002 so bathrooms and kitchen are all new. The furniture is cosy, comfortable and with some antique pieces. Fienile has an independent central heating and can be rented all year round (close between December 15th, to January 15th, every year).

FIENILE is located in a perfect spot combining peace and quiet with a wealth of cultural activities and visits to the Versilina cost (34 Km.). All around large fields, wood, olive groves and vineyards. The backdrop of the "colline Lucchesi" mountains behind the property is truly memorable.and in the neighbourhood the magnificence of the "Ville Lucchesi" country residence of Lucca's noble family, in a word the location is in the most privileged area around Lucca. In July in the city centre of Lucca the world famous "Summer Festival" with the performance of the biggest singer and band of the world like Elton Jones, John Legend, Norah Jones, George Michael etc.. Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (40 minutes driving) and many others cultural activities like concerts in the Historical Villas.

The Tuscany / Lucca Province region

What to say about Tuscany? I think most of the people knows something about......it's a marvellous region with very nice landsape, important historical towns, secret places just round the corner. One of the things that people doesnt know is that in Tuscany there are places that only a few people know about, so just pick up your car and take a road and go.........you will discover fascinating, amazing small villages up tothe mountain just close to us, in a word you will discover the real Tuscany and find small restaurant where you still can eat the fantastic local food.

The Lucca area

Lucca is one of the few towns of the world that keeps intact the wall fence around the town, beautiful churches (people from Lucca says more than one hundred), beautiful mansions, beautiful shops and what else.....just wandering around those very narrow medioval streets and you will find small shops, small restaurants. Lucca area still belong to Lucca's inhabitant, you don't fill like a tourist. Don't forget Puccini! During the summer you can have the opportunity to go to the Opera in Torre del Lago. And what about the modern music? In July in Lucca there is the Summer Festival with the most famous singers coming from all over the world.

The estate is located 13 km. noth of Lucca in the country side. If you arrive by plane the closest airport is in Pisa (Ryanair) about 40 minutes away or Florence (1 hour), at both airport you can rent a car (Hertz or Europecar). By train the closest train station is Lucca. By car motorway A11 exit Lucca (east or west doesn't make difference) then follow the direction SS12 Abetone/Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Marlia is on the way.

“Tranquil setting- rural Italy as I imagined it” Easy to find using coordinates on sat-nav. Lovely, spacious house, well-equipped for self-catering. Laid back and friendly family-feel. Well-maintained, clean with a lovely swimming pool. Safe for young children. Quiet but not made to feel out of place with children (x4!) Lucca only 15 minutes away by car, Pisa half an hour. Met a family from GB who had come to the same place for 21 years in a row- true recommendation. Would have no hesitation in staying there again when I return to Tuscany. Gorgeous views. “Beautiful friendly place to stay” This is a beautiful place in the countryside of Tuscany. It is located outside a small village but only an hour away from Florence and Pisa. After a hot busy day in Florence is absolutely wonderful to come back to the cool charming countryside. The owners are very friendly and around if you need anything. They speak Italian, French, and English. The house is very charming and clean with modern bathrooms. My family has stayed in several houses on this property and they are all lovely. Many people return year after year because they enjoy it so much. It is a wonderful place to vacation and just take it easy. My family has vacationed there for over 10 years and my children now 19 and 22 still want to come every year. There are wonderful local places near to buy fresh bread every day, have coffee, in the local bar and eat in many rustic places. If you are trying to have the “Italian experience” this is your place. This is a place for all types of people both young and old.
