About the home

Casa Bougainvillea is situated in Parque do Moinho on the outskirts of Lagos. This lovely one story villa with air-conditioning / heating, Wi-Fi and its own private pool (pool heating available) is within walking distance of Lagos town (approximately 20-30 minutes walk or a short bus journey). Just around the corner you have a welcoming café/restaurant serving meals and drinks all day.

The lovely free formed swimming pool with heating available is surrounded by a sunbathing terrace well equipped with sunloungers and outdoor dining furniture. The built in BBQ and outside furniture is perfect for some al-fresco dining.

The Lagos / Parque do Moinho area

This beautiful market town is set within one of the largest bays on the Algarve. Lagos is one of the Algarve’s oldest and most interesting towns and within the historic walls there’s an abundance of cafes and restaurants along its cobbled streets. Lagos was primarily a fishing port that has become a popular tourist location.

The Marina de Lagos offers a touch of elegance with it restaurants, shops, bars and cafes and is also an important yachting centre. Lagos combines both a local and tourist feel better than any other resort on the Algarve, there’s always a good local presence when you visit this typical Portuguese town. Along the coast there are numerous Water Parks and Theme parks.

Slide and Splash, the nearest water theme park is a fun day out. Just past Portimão, this is an ideal for either a sunny or cloudy day. We suggest that you take a picnic lunch with you, as eating and drinking there can be quite expensive, and remember to take lots of sunscreen.

The Zoomarine is also a fun day out for the young and not so young, with dolphins and sea lion shows, sharks, parrots and other animals. Also there is a large swimming pool and funfair rides and 4D cinema.

“Well maintained villa for two to four people in convenient area.” The whole property, including pool and garden, is beautifully maintained and relaxing. There is two cafe/bars within easy walking distance - both with fluent English speaking staff. Three supermarkets and a fish market is ten minutes walk away. As it is uphill older guests might find the return journey more difficult. We plan to return next year.

“Fabulous Villa, great location” This is a beautiful villa, absolutely immaculate with excellent facilities - A home from home, really. We had a car for the fortnight, so drove to the beach and into Lagos every evening. Would probably be quite a long walk to the beach, however the walk into Lagos would only be about 15 minutes, possibly longer with younger children. The only gripe we had was that the advert states there was a DVD player, therefore we took several DVDs to watch - but there was no DVD player (that we could find, anyway!) Response: Thank you very much for your review we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Casa Bougainvillea. Thank you also for pointing out about the DVD player we will make sure we get one immediatley for all future guests, sorry for the inconvenience to you. We offer all returning guests a discount on future rentals and we hope to see you again soon.

“A clean safe and quiet environment for a family holiday” Everything is very convenient. The beach, supermarkets and town are all nearby. Location is very quiet and safe residental area. Our holiday experience is like home from home.
