Home description

Ideally situated in the peaceful countryside, yet only 1 mile from the splendid old town of Lagos with its lovely
squares, fountains and pedestrian streets full of restaurants,pavement cafes and bars.
Miradouro has a heated swimming pool and built in barbecue with adjacent eating area by the pool and a second outdoor eating area
on the large first floor terrace with panoramic views. There is also a large lawned area, ideal for ball games,
so children have plenty of space for running around. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Miradouro has its own maid, Antonia, who works 6 mornings a week, with Sundays and national holidays off.
She will deal with all the household chores, leaving Mum free to enjoy her holiday too! Antonia will baby sit at
extra charge plus transport.

The Algarve / West Algarve region

Lagos (pronounced Lah-gosh!) is quite different to most other Algarve resorts. This is no purpose built resort
or over developed fishing village. It is an ancient Portuguese town, its heritage very well preserved by the local council. Tourism now plays an important part in its prosperity, but by no means overwhelms it. The centre of town has lovely old squares, fountains and pedestrian streets, full of restaurants and bars; but a short stroll
from the centre you will find rambling cobbled streets; a flight of steps leading to an ancient church, or the old city walls surrounding the town. Visit the new marina with its quayside cafes and bars; walk along the lovely palm fringed promenade, overlooking the fishing boatsand town beaches with an old fort jutting out into the sea.
In Lagos is found the first (and last!) slave market in Europe and the Church of Santo Antonio with its regional
museum. In short it is a spacious Portuguese town with something for everyone, no matter what your taste.

Lagos / Falfeira area

Lagos has numerous restaurants to suit all pockets and tastes, from Portuguese tavernas to the only 3 star
restaurant in the area. There are pizzerias,steakhouses, vegetarian, Chinese, Indian and Swiss restaurants.
There are pavement cafes in pretty squares; bars and discos; trendy boutiques and gift shops; a municipal market and various supermarkets. In and around Lagos are 5 championship golf courses; facilities for
sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba diving, deepsea fishing, boat trips tennis,squash, horse riding and
for the really adventurous- microlight flying!

Babies cots and high chairs may be ordered for a small extra charge.

The main villa has entrance hall with telephone leading to Master bedroom with twin beds, en suite marble
bathroom and patio doors onto pool terrace. Bedrooms 2 and 3 with twin beds sharing 2nd marble bathroom.
All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes and are furnished with hand painted furniture from the Alentejo
region of Portugal. A passage from the hallway leads to the extension with laundry room and kitchenette
for poolside drinks and barbecue crockery. There is also a winter sitting room, which is closed in the summer
and never let separately. For larger parties this room can sleep an additional 2 people at a supplement of
20% of the appropriate rental. It is a very large room with en suite bathroom and stunning views to the
Monchique hills. Cool air fans are available for all rooms in the high summer

Marble stairs lead to the first floor with a large living room and patio doors onto terrace with outdoor eating
area. Marvellous views across the bay of Lagos, to the Monchique hills and over the new Marina . Sitting area
and dining area. Satellite TV with family package. Fully equipped kitchen and upstairs cloakroom. There is a
small library of paper backed books for your use.

Further details outdoors:
Walled front garden with kidney shaped swimming pool (10x5 metres) surrou nded by a large terrace with
sunbeds. Built in barbecue with adjacent eating area. The pool is heated throughout the summer season,
except for July and August when the temperature is ideal anyway.There is a lawned area surrounded by
shrubs and a pergola providing a shady area. To the rear of the villa is a car park and a citrus orchard.

Further details

The villa is managed by Rosemary Reynolds who has over 30 years experience and is well able to deal with
all formalities and any local difficulties.
The villa is available from 2pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure to enable the maid to do a really good clean between lets.
Winter lets include the winter sitting room, with slow burning log fire. The villa is equipped with electric blankets, fan heaters and has a current gas safety certificate.

Conditions

A deposit of £100p.w. is required and the balance is due 8 weeks before departure. A refundable deposit of
£50 is taken for keys and breakages in the summer months, £100 in the winter months to also cover excess
heating charges.

The above prices are for up to 6 people in the main villa. Supplement for additional bedroom , 20% of appropriate rental. Winter prices (November to March) depend on duration and number of people, please

enquire. The price shown is for 2 people staying for 6 weeks or more. Shorter lets cost a little more as do

additional people.

Pool heating, by heat exchange pump, is included in all summer rentals (Easter - October) except for July and August, when the temperature is ideal anyway. Pool heating is available in the winter (November-March) as

an optional extra at extra cost.
